Back in form M'sieur Duck. With our forward line so skint of talent surely Melican coming back in could release our swingman McCartin. McDonald too must be close to coming back in. McLean is in good form but could do with a couple of other talls.
I may be confusing AFL with the fables of Alexandre Dumas set in pre-revolutionary France (as I sometimes do), but with Amon Buchanan as forward coach what team could resist our Three Mackateers and D'Artamon.
Not only would these team colours look a lot snappier than last week's awful Order of the Knights of the Holy Virgins (which are still being scrubbed) but swords will come in really handy in a marking contest. Chopping of the arms? Aliir may get a free kick but good luck taking it....

You did say the same about the pies last week though matePort are average as ****
Port are average as ****
Yet we've managed to make AA look like the best player in the game every time. We have this amazing abilty to kick it straight to him every time...heaven knows we bombed it in enough last week...I shudder how many marks AA will take if we do that rubbish again
You did say the same about the pies last week though mate
You don’t think it will be a good game?
I reckon it will be good
Piss this one in to?
He looked great in the prelim....
Corbin Middlemas, Dwayne Russell, Jordan Lewis, Gerard Healy & Alastair Lynch.
I like Corbin.
Logan not ruled out yet, going to make the call after main session today
Sounds like Melican and Juzzy are definitely back in
From this I take that:
- Melican and McI definitely straight in
- Ladhams unlikely to be out (given he mentioned the possibility of using "Pete forward")
On that basis, I think the outs will be Armatey and Gus. Even though it saddens me to say that.
Not saying you are wrong but why are we taking a small for a tall?
Surely it's Corey Warner for Jmac, come on can we be real here, Corey is getting what 10 possessions? Jmac is the direct like for like, I mean surely.
Melican in for sure but for who goodness knows, it shouldn't be for Hamling, on form it should be Rampe but it won't, so who knows there
For the first time in forever we lowered our eyes, it's funny that lol, almost like I've been saying that for 5 years, the stupid kick and hope never works especially with rubbish forwards
Took the opportunity to watch the first half of the QF today - we were noticeably more antagonistic than we normally are, getting into their players after every goal, constantly bumping and physically/verbally harassing. It was kinda un-Swanslike but looked to be very much a deliberate plan, knowing that several of their players are prone to being put off their game.Historically Port have the wood on us save the prelim.
However if we tag Horne-Francis and prevent his smash in ball work and frustrate him to the point of ill-discipline we are a chance.
Actually I don't mind this as long as Bice is the seventh defender. Just not sure when is the best time to rest Ramps.Love this as a back 6
Wicks melican hamling
Roberts mccartin blakey
They all compliment each other imo. Melican is our best key defender. Hamling is a good 1v1 defender imo. Ditto with wicks. Roberts and blakey free to provide attack & mccartin plays the intercept defender role.
Fortunately both melican & mccartin are athletic enough to not make our backline slow either.
Corey got a few more than that - plus a couple of sausage rolls.
Personally, I think Corey will go to sub, as McI won't be match fit & Cox will plan for him to only play 3 quarters.
If Ladhams plays, I see no other alternate that for Gus to be the one to make way in the mids.
I hope I'm wrong.
