Throwing the ball obviously isn't on the list for umpires to watch.
Don’t be silly, how would they have time to watch for that when they’re busy watching for 30 metre kicks that they can call play on not 15??

Some of the non holding the ball calls I've seen today have been mind boggling
The umpiring standard has never been worse.

There is no consistency any more.

It's a lottery.

Almost like the umpires don't know the rules.

Was looking forward to this match but it's been garbage. Never thought that Melbourne v Freo would be a mode enjoyable watch
Wind is swirling all over the place which has lowered the skill level.

Very hard to kick goals to Northern end... where there have been no goals for the game so far.

Lowest combined half time score since
1968 (bog heap) Carl v Ess (0.7 v 0.5)
1984 (bog heap) Ess V Foot (0.7 v 0.7)
1977 (bog heap) Car v Geel (1.7 v 0.4)

and then we can go allllll the way back to 1921, which google says was also a bog heap.

So, yes, we may just have witnessed the Most Appalling Half of Football ever played.
