Provisional 2025 Draft order

Adding Bont and Warner both as much as it takes from our draft hand, it would instantly make us at least a middle table team with high upside due to the amount of kids we have.

Draft a mid with pick 1.
Trade for Wanrer with the Allen compo.
Hawks 1st for Bont.
Maybe we trade for Darcy Cameron too with our 2nd rounder+some player.
Thats the entire midfield rebuilt.

Bont would essentially be more or less obtained for Barrass, theyre the same age but Bont is clearly the superior player/leader so that'd be a win.

Just need a KPD, which could be one of Archer or Shanahan.
I've seen Butts name mentioned as a possibility, he would be better than Edwards or Brock surely?

Attracting talent should be relatively easy if we have Bont, Warner and Reid in the middle.

WTAF is going on with that Busslinger kent.

Did bulldogs literally name him on the extended bench to make his debut and then pull the rug out yet again?

Swear they've done that a dozen times now. Surely we'd be into his ear sowing the idea of him coming home.

If they aren't playing him it's only going to give us more bargaining at the trade table with his value.

Another huge stat game in the VFL again too. Boxshall as well.

You would’ve thought the offers were decent last year and didn’t bite. I think some have mentioned if he left he would’ve preferred to stay in Melbourne anyway.

Would Bont really leave as a free agent giving the Bulldogs a mid-late first rounder in a compromised draft?

Unless he has really fallen out with the club he stays since they should have the salary cap room after their trades last year and the Ugle Hagan situation.

If Bontempelli was to leave the Dogs via free agency to Collingwood for eg, what would you expect the compensation pick to be?

Yeah a trade seem easy enough.

Does a 29yo attract band 1? You’d think the coin we would have to offer it would be well a truely enough.
Hard to say with his age. Salary would be huge, probably assume band 1 but would depend on the age/salary spilt weight.

I don’t understand why we would want a 30 year old.
It's not like we will be contending in the next couple of years.
He'd be a pretty good player for the kids to learn from

Would be invaluable for the young mids to learn off and the rest of the squad, unfortunately our 2 senior mids one gets dropped, doesn’t look like he wants to be there and the other can’t get onto the park because his joints and muscles are made of tissue paper.

There's no way we bring Bontempelli and Warner in the same off-season.

IF we were to trade for Bontempelli I think it make Duursma the obvious draft target provided he continues to show midfield craft and development he showed in his Coates Talent League game. He is an elite ball user and could develop at half back giving us that elite kick that we currently don't have.

If Hewett Conintues to develop we could have a midfield of Bont, Harley, Yeo, Hewett would make us instantly competitive.

We'd still need a ruck, so Cameron becomes a more attractive prospect.

We'd still need a key back, and need to work through what our best forward mix, but it would be a huge step in the right direction, improve us immediately and also make us far more attractive to recruit (and retain) talent.

I've never seen Busslinger and know nothing about him so i am not expressing a negative opinion of him.. But my question is if he is worth having then why do the Bulldogs not want to give him a game? Why does the club whose list he is currently on and knows more about him than we do seem to not rate him?

Fair question.
