What do you think creative is. Put your next best key forward am clearly best second ruck forward in Lobb. Buss in defence
I don’t know what we’ll do. Lobb up forward is looking unavoidable on paper. However, I’m of the opinion that taking him out of the backline will do more harm than good.

Next five weeks we play some of the best forward half teams in the Comp. Imagine an Eric Hipwood style match from Jeremy Cameron. Now imagine it without a sizeable opponent. It would All be on Buku who is dog water 1v1.

Maybe I’m chatting shit. But continue Rotating Bont through the middle and up forward. While further emphasis is put on our ground ball gets and lower deliveries.

Maybe we switch the plan and play small up forward. Have Norton and Bontempelli as the two talls and surround them with West, Kennedy, Dolan, McNeil etc.

To move Lobb up forward would smack of desperation, giving up strength to try to cover up a weakness. It's not exactly a killer move.
A major issue with replacing Darce though is not just the forward role, but also playing significant minutes in the Ruck - this is where Lobb is pretty much the standout candidate.

Lobb has been outstanding down back, so it's a tricky call.

If we throw Jacques into the defence in the next few weeks, could Bramble be re-deployed as a small forward?

Has he ever played this position?

JOD should stay in defence.

I reckon move Lobb back to the 2nd ruck / forward roll otherwise it's naughton or bust.

If we need another tall bring in Buss - it's time.

Who's the best small forward / high half forward across all the state leagues at the moment? Take them mid season.

I'm not sure there's a spot for Buku at either end with JOD in the team. He's the more solid of the 2 for mine.

Going to keep an eye on a WAFL bloke named Lochlan Patton. Kicked 4 on AFL-listed defenders today.

I'm not so sure moving our best defender to the forwardline is the answer. He didn't exactly set the world on fire when he was there this time last year.

I'd like to see English spend more time forward and someone else doing the heavy lifting in the ruck.

Dropping West for that final was quite silly.

Was like watching 2016 Picken tonight.

Especially knowing what we know now regarding JUH

Deplorable decision

Its going to be interesting watching what Bevo does with the second tall forward over the coming weeks.

O'Donnell looks far more comfortable behind the ball.

I wonder if we saw a preview of his thinking when we saw Lobb spend extended periods of the last forward.
Lobb’s form forward before he went back was patchy but one thing he offers that the alternatives don’t is credible ruck cover.

I think Jones and JOD back with support from Buku and maybe Buss/Croft will do it. Most here thought we were a tall heavy anyway.

I have been a big no to Lobb moving forward, but I think without Marra and Darcy now it's time. He is easily the most dangerous out of him, JOD and Khamis and also a very solid 2nd ruck which the other's aren't yet.

Buss looks ready for a debut, so gives him a shot also next to Jones and maybe JOD down back also. If Harmes or VDM are back I would probably drop Buku for one of them and go with some more run. Kennedy / Bont can provide a bit of third tall targets.

Lucky to get the win after a slow start. Bont was a bit underdone and probably should have come back through the VFL.
I like the slow start comment even more than the Bont comment.
I checked the GameDay thread at half time, and the usual suspects really came out in the basement running.

I'm pretty happy with a ten goal win, thought it was a good performance.
Will never understand why the people who abuse our players bother to follow.

I like your satire, yet I'm not surprised some won't get it.

Buss should be physically ready by now and has great form in the twos. Lobb might be more seasoned and reliable down back but Buss might do a reasonable impersonation.

I thought perhaps trialling Lobb forward to bring in Buss back next week. Croft is still a little while off so don't mind that option.

Or they send out a search party to Chapel St for our other forward option /s

Too deflated to be happy.

If we missed finals this year i would have still been so happy watching Sam play weekly.

This one’s beyond a kick in the dick.

It’s actually going to be incredibly interesting to see what we come up with for our forward line. Lobb, JOD & Buku could all be deployed there with Croft & Busslinger replacement options for other roles.

As much as I love Lobb in defence, I just can’t see how a forward line based around Naughton & Buku or JOD is enough firepower. We need to replace 100-120 goals with no Darcy, Jamarra or Weightman from last year.

I think Jones, JOD & Buku could do the job in the backline. There’s always the option of moving it around on if it isn’t working.
