Lobb Jones and JOD all started their careers as forwards obviously the first 2 are far more integral down back so will probably just see JOD back forward for the time being
I wouldn’t really say JOD started as a forward. That’s where he (bizarrely) came into the AFL team but it was off the back of a really solid start to his VFL career in the backline.

Probably Busslinger in for Darcy and swing the magnets around. I can see us using Lobb as the forward/ruck again.

Croft is a year away from being a year away.

Jaques will be in the side sooner than later.

verrry reluctant to move Lobgg out of defence, he is so solid.

I dont mind bringing buss into defence, but someone else goes forward, JOD or Khamis

I wonder if we use Sam to replace Sam. Sam Davidson has made impressive start on the wing but played a fair bit forward last season for the tiger reserves last season and is 191 cm can play as a 3rd tall.

The 3 talls whilst Sam is out should be Astro, JOD, Davidson. The wing replacement for Davidson can be Baker until we get ADZ back then Freijah..

JOD is clearly our best 3rd tall defender, Buku is a handy backup as a 3rd or 4th defender. Both are Bog ordinary forward of the ball, which means Naughts will be doubled teamed with no damage to the opposition.

Neither are even average second rucks so.we would be giving that position up when English is resting.

It is easier to play in a back system than play forward where you have to create. Yes Lobb has been great down back, but with Darcy out and JUH not coming back we have to try a go as far as we can this season with what is left.

Lobb is significantly better both as a forward and importantly a second ruck than JOD and Buku. Yes he is a better back than those 2 and Buss down back, but that gap is no.where near as much.

Croft is miles away,.and neither Lachie Smith nor English are that good forward, so our best chance would be Lobb Forward with 2 of the other 3 back with Jones. Plan B is the more aggressive but riskier Lachlan.Smith is amd leave Lobb back

Would still give buku a chance up forward. He was showing good signs up there a few years back.
When?????
Never in the AFL, 7 goals in total and averaged less than 2 goals a game in the VFL

Why would we move a player thriving in one of the hardest positions on the ground, wing, to a position where his strengths are much easier to be blunted by the opposition as he tries to develop in the AFL

Yep Davidson has covered the most distance in 4 of the 6 games, and distance at high speed 6 of 6,and has a mandate to stay on the wing and run and run and run and manipulate space with the running in a way that even other extremely fit AFL players can't match.

There's zero chance we move him from there. We've had basically 5 straight years of not knowing who should play on a wing. With Williams and Davidson we're basically in set and forget mode for the whole season, knock on wood both stay fit. We even had such confidence in both that Poutler and Baker trained in pre-season as forwards and defenders respectively as there was no chance either was getting ahead of Williams and Davidson on the wing.
