I honestly think all those 4 QBs are gone by pick 15. In other drafts there were better prospects this draft is pretty meh when it comes to top end talent so I see no problem reaching on a QB in this draft especially when you get 5th option on 1st round picks which will save you about 35 mil+ if that qb is any good cos you will have to resign him a year later with 5th year option.

It's true what you emphasize, and while there isnt a lot of elite tier players to warrant pushing the QBs down and down, i think there are better players at many other positions than those QBs who "should" go before them. Like Monocle was saying like you are saying....the qb neediness is only reason why.

Alot of the talent has character issues. Green, Pearce, Nolan come to mind.
Then there is injury worries for guys like Morrison, Simmons.

Is it better to take a punt on one of the 4 QBs or draft one of talents with red flags ?

Personally, Id rather take a chance on the higher graded red flag player than a shitty QB just because of need.

Joe Mixon, Vobtaze Burfict, Jeffrey Summons, Laremy Tunsil, etc, rather than the long list of mediocre QBs taken out of need

Behavior can be changed, talent cant be infused.

Especially players where it was more one-off poor choices rather than an ongoijg series of criminal behavior.

Any trade into top 5 right now is stupid. Do it on draft night maybe the guy you are trading up for is gone and its a waste. You can have deal in place contingent on who is on the board but no point doing the trade now.

It would be amazing if the draft only had 1 QB taken in the 1st round, because then teams will learn in future years that they dont need to reach for day 2 grade QBs just for that 5th year option. but we have had this all before and teams always reach for them.

Last year is a good example only Jayden Daniels should of gone day 1 [You could make a case for trading back in for Maye or Caleb in the 20s] but it ended up being 6 taken. someone else will take a QB and the other teams panic and trade before the ones they like are gone.

1 year is way too early to make an assessment on a draft class but its more likely that last year will be a terrible example for your point

How so. Based on tape only 2-3 were top 30 players with only Daniles worth a top 5 pick. Caleb had an amazing highlight reel, but full game tape the holes in his game showed.

JJ, Penix and Nix were not 1st round on tape but because there were more QB desperate teams they went higher.

And to day 1 year is too early to make that assessment misses the whole point. It's actually 12 months too late to make the assessment. It's based on their college play not what they might become. I'm basing it off what they should be as PBA. But the draft never falls that way, most years more QBs are taken then should or WR or CB. And there might be a RB who is a top 20 talent in the draft but not taken till day 2 because it's a lower rated position in recent years.

The draft will never fall on a best pick available type deal because of team needs and how scouts or GMs over value some metrics or whatever. Like Player A might be the best tackle in the draft, But player B goes before him because him because he can play both sides and play inside if needed.
