Yep. It is harsh, and deservedly so.
Still, a footballer not going out after 10pm during the season is probs pretty normal. He’ll cope fine.

I think for a first, isolated offence, it's important to condemn the behaviour/actions, not the person so much.

Everyone (within reason) deserves a chance to redeem themselves.

We have all made poor choices and mistakes, what really matters is if we learn from them or not.

The idiots crying for jail terms have no concept of this, nor rehabilitation, nor understanding of the factors that contribute to criminality and deviance. Chucking in jail or taking the job of people who throw a few punches will guaranteed create more crime.

Mentioned that if it was about protecting the community or ensuring Balta didn't reoffend the curfew would have extended into the off season, because that's when Balta is likely to be out on the gas getting into stupid things like king hitting blokes on their knees. Rather, the Curfew was limited to in-season and implemented in a way that intentionally impacted his ability to play, not remove it completely, but enough to essentially double the punishment Richmond/AFL gave him in a manner that suggests the Magistrate was thinking - "you arrogant ****s, playing this dog of a human days before he was sentenced".

The judge wouldn’t care less about Richmond, they are irrelevant to the case from a legal standpoint unless you a suggesting the judge was trying to punish a 3rd party for the crime of an individual
