There are no honourable losses. The time to perform is now, and break this loser's mentality.

It's the SENIOR players who are letting us down.

I honestly don't know what McDonald gives us. At best, he tries to kill a contest so it's a ball up, or getting the ball out of bounds. He can't create from the backline, and all his kicks are junk anyway. If we want to progress, we need to enventually move him out of the automatic best 22 by the end of the season.

The idiotic 50m penalty he gave away pretty much sums up his entire career. Massive momentum killer when senior players let us down.

Simpkin has never been able to kick, and when he misses a target by 5m when all the forwards are open ahead of the play, it costs us a goal. Again, kills all the momentum.

That's our two most recent captains. No wonder we're going nowhere.

Daniel missed targets that cost us goals too. He can't defend, and is becoming a bit of a whipping boy for supporters.
LDU got caught too many times today. Zurharr did nothing for 2.5 quarters. Larkey had a shocker.

We'll probably get smashed by Essendon, as everyone is satisifed with an honourable loss. Time to drop some senior players.
l would even take dropping 1 senior player as a starting point...

Missed calls like that are Exhibit A on why we don’t need 4 of them.

What value is the 4th umpire contributing other than diluting the quality and making the game even more inconsistent.

If we went back to 3 that is 9 of the shit campaigners that are not required.
Should be 1 umpire per half. I don't give a **** how 'fast' the game is

I have a question

And this is not about Toby Pink. Please consider Corr or Logue or even Wil Dawson as an alternative if you desire.

What does Kal Dawson give us?
Seriously.

He's not an experienced KPD. Played loose at Willy.
He's older than Toby Pink so it's not as if we are playing the kids.
He's not as strong as any of them, except maybe Wawson.
And he has no cohesion whatsoever with Comben.

Someone explain to me what I'm missing with Kallan Dawson's selection after that performance tonight.

Thanks

I think he's actually more a third tall/tall flanker type. His strengths are actually his pace and rebound, rather than one on one defensive skills. I'd say he was played out of position today on their best key forward. I think it was a poor selection, they've picked a bloke and played him in a position that doesn't play to his strengths

One a week.

I’d make an addendum to this of no instant returns unless created through injury

If you’re a senior player and you get dropped you have to work back into the team or else what the f*** is the point?

Thankfully in Wardlaw, FOS, Archer and Hardeman we have young players who are far less concerned with picking up cheap little possessions and far more concerned with the things they do in the contest and without the ball - the things that don't register stats.

We have to continue to get competitors in this side and at the club - who have a minimum level of mongrel and intensity in the contest and without the ball. And we have to get rid of the soft campaigners who don't and the ones who want to laugh and joke with the opposition after we lose yet another game. Trade them out.

We had Port on the ropes, poor first quarter cost us.

We had individual errors which were also poor, but they happen in every game let alone to players who are devoid of all confidence. You could see our confidence start to build as the game wore on.

We were much better playing as a team. Didn’t overuse the footy and kicked long when under pressure. We controlled territory for most of the night and won the 50/50 balls. We gave away less silly free kicks in the second half which kept us in the game as well.

The individual errors were clear, I won’t comment on those but I saw real promise in that second half especially with the way we played as a whole.

More improvement needed, but tonight was definately a good response after last week.

Echoing the thoughts of others — if we had even three senior players with more processing power than an Atari 2600, we win today. Parker was the only one who held up his end of the bargain.

The kids largely did their bit — but here’s the thing: lapses from the kids are expected. It’s the peanut gallery with 100+ games under their belt who continue to absolutely murder us. Very poor result given we got given a rare red carpet roll-out by the umps.

Caleb Daniel has all the makings of an all-time whipping boy, and by god, he is doing my head in.
Slow, unreliable disposal, and a defensive liability to boot.

He’s hard at it for a little bloke, but it’s like watching a three-legged Jack Russell try to beat a Rottweiler to a tennis ball. He struggles to get there in time, and when he does, there's nothing he can do to stop the inevitable.

McDonald has been passable this season (by his standards), but that 50 he gave away today was piss-poor — pushed my hairline back another inch. The umps will call that every day of the week. I don't doubt he meant to throw it to the Port player, but somehow he even butchered that. A mind-bendingly shit footballer.

Loved Xerri getting into JHF’s grill, and Wardlaw in general. Curtis was great but the flops are starting to irritate me, the Larkey effect perhaps.

The sad thing is, even Wardlaw’s goal didn’t stir anything in me. Logically, I knew it was brilliant — but in my bones, I knew we didn’t have the nerve or polish to bring it home. I felt nothing.

I just want to enjoy footy again.

It wasn’t a good performance.

Watch the game Port were ****ing horrible and managed to win.
I’ve watched it now. I have to disagree. It was a good performance. Both teams were wayward in their goal kicking. We need a win, though. Archer, McKercher, Wardlaw and Duursma looking great. McKercher makes mistakes but, boy, does he have upside.

Can I have some of what you are on?

McKercher was pitiful and when his moment came shit his pants and could t even score on his dominant foot under no pressure.

Kid’s a ****ing potato.
