Georgiades out marked him quite a lot especially up the ground, whereas Corr would have nullified the contest. We had much better defensive cohesion/transition after q1 so there wasn’t many one on ones - when that did happen Dawson generally lost the contest. I think there is a place for him in the side but as others have said it should be the third tall and not as one of the two KPDs.

Corr would have gave away nothing free kicks as always on bigger opponents. George getting the ball up the ground and deep pocket/against boundary is a win.

We unfortunately only have third talls. W Dawson next year will fill the kpd spot.

I listened to some of the game on the radio, where they described it as a tackers game umpired by 2 of the dads and some of the kids boots were 2 sizes too big.

It was a shit game, Port played shit and the only reason we didn’t win is that we don’t know how to.

Can’t disagree that there has been a vacuum of leadership at North for years. I was dead serious when I thought they should’ve given the captaincy to Parker otherwise you’re just ignoring the elephant in the room.

Is anyone able to tell me why; when the oppo marks from about centre wing, back towards our forward line, we do not man the mark?

I saw repeated examples of letting the oppo player have a 10-15 metre run at it before anyone applies pressure - let alone mans the mark. North players deliberately conceding ground (??)

I have seen this trend/tactic consistently from us over the last month.

At least twice, an oppo player was given an easy extra 10-15 metres to their kick, resulting in marks to Port in their 50.

I am genuinely interested (and confused) in the theory - as this is definitely a deliberate trend/tactic.
