Dewar needs a spell in the WAFL, Owies needs one permanently as does Cole. The Ins speak for themselves. Long should get another shot for a full game against Melbourne.

Dewar needs a reset after cooling off, nothing dramatic just same as Long needed.

Nobody at WAFL banged the door down, Gross was best on.

I’d also gladly do HJ for Cole but Horsley doesn’t seem to rate HJ’s games so not sure what sort of feedback is being given back to McQualter.

Duggan looked to have injured a collarbone or shoulder in that late collision with Ginnivan. Johnston in for him, and Cole survives.

Kelly in to rotate forward with Reid, Owies misses out as a result. Still struggling to work out what Owies brings tbh.

Long swap with Davis. Not sure he deserved the call up and he didn’t get a lot of time but I don’t want to drop him straight away.

Gross back, Graham to move on to a wing, Dewar to have a spell.

Think three changes is about right. Don’t want to disrupt the team too much, but it’s a short turnaround so we can bring in a couple of players that played WAFL Friday and will be fresher.

Yeah Melbourne's really main strength is there guts. Get some blokes in the middle who will make life tough

Owies out, Baker forward, Bo Allan gets his shot. Dewar back to the 2's to find some form and Kelly in on the wing with a short leash. I'd love to get Gross in somewhere but today's midfield mix deserves another week together. Allen to stay down back another week to continue finding some form and confidence, though he will go forward again soon (he isn't getting us band 1 as a defender).

Wouldn't be changing too much. First quarter and a half were garbage today but pretty happy with how hard we fought the game out after that (skills not great but effort was there). Would be happy keeping Allen in defence (thought he was okay apart from a 5 minute patch early in the 2nd and certainly a big improvement on Edwards) and Maric, Duggan, Baker & Cole were all solid as our small/mids. Just need to cut out that turnover ball that sees us completely out of position on the rebound.

Out: Davis In: Kelly (if fit) or Johnston (nice stint from Davis - now go back to WAFL to implement skills learned; Kelly was good enough last game to come back in but if not then HJ to be rewarded as next best WAFL performer)

Owies to sub and Long to get full game.

Gross into midfield mix with Hough to play more defence on Pickett (albeit can follow Pickett into midfield when he has his stints).

I think he's fine to play as the team needs 2 key defenders.

Forward line is too tall so he can't play there - Waterman, A Reid and Jilliams even excluding him.
