Interesting, I didn’t know that. I just heard we were into him but I suppose it wouldn’t be the first player they potentially missed out on even with a big offer if we got serious about him.

It's chalk and cheese playing footy (or any sport) when you're miserable in a bottom dysfunctional team compared to being happy in a winning top team.
Has the physical attributes, skills and footy smarts to be one of the best key forwards in the AFL.

Apparently he's been offered big money. Wouldn't matter too much if you're being paid the big bucks, and the Saint's form for the first four games of the season showed that they're good enough, just couldn't do it over the past couple weeks.

Interesting, I didn’t know that. I just heard we were into him but I suppose it wouldn’t be the first player they potentially missed out on even with a big offer if we got serious about him.

I can't remember the exact amount, but it's a lot for a kid without many games. Remember seeing someone mention 800k+. I'd take that over playing for us. No way he'd get anywhere near that amount with Brisbane. Also don't see how he breaks into the current team, unless the medical team don't see Doodee working out.

Who else are they paying? Max King's contract is a squillion years long, can move money in that to different years easily enough.

If they manage to keep NWM he will require a big pay packet. Assume Steele and Sinclair are taking most of the rest

I doubt we will want him if his asking price is high. We traditionally dont pick up high priced players and dont pay overs for any of our lads on this list… including Lachie.
I dont like OA much. Think there are better options if we need to look at a key forward…. If is a big question.
We are doing pretty good they way the list is now really and with Gallop and a couple of others not far behind the pack, i am not like a few who think we do

I think the cap has gone up so much that they'll comfortably have the room. Talk has been that they have lots of space for a few years now.

Whether they should actually offer that money to TDK and Aleer is a very different question.

I am not sure he is worth 1.7/season but whenever I have seen TDK play he is a bloody good player.

If St Kilda can afford it, they should throw the bank at both those guys if they are legitimate chances to get them because as Neale and Cameron showed with us, if you can a couple of big / biggish names, it can attract others to also come.

Definitely a ruck imo.
And I think going to the Saints it will allow Marshall to play forward a bit more which he is quite good at.

That could be a major reason why we are playing Day when in theory we could be getting a similar output from Gallop but getting games into him for the future.
I think you take proven talent, which OA is, when if you can get it.

Yes love Gallop. Potentially very high ceiling and great natural aggression. But his games in the vfl have been inconsistent. Dominating one week then a bit ordinary the next. Obviously on a learning curve. Club may wait to the end of the season, before finalising its position on Allen, depending on Gallop’s progress.

The problem with Allen is that he doesn't seem to pinch hit in the ruck. I would have thought for him to be headed our way it would be a requirement of his to play some ruck time.
