Petruccelle has a career average of two tackles a game so is unlikely to replace Owies' role. Not that Owies played his role vs Hawthorn.
I like Petruccelle but he's a nothing player at WC. Has pace to burn and is a reasonable kick, could be something in the right system but not here. Way too many low possession games where he doesn't impact the scoreboard.

I'm definitely not going in to bat for Petruccelle, but he kicked 2 goals on the weekend. Players have been promoted for less.
Personally, I think he's a list-clogger that will be delisted by the end of the year. But I'm surprised that he doesn't seem to have any supporters anymore

Purely to give exposure to Shanahan where Archer has struggled just a little bit the last two games to really impact. Again, exposing a younger player where May will go to Waterman and Lever is injured, gives Shanahan a chance at the highest level.

Hot take but Harley and Hewett don't get in to the game as much if Hough isn't in the midfield. If we go back to putting Hough in the backline instead of exploring his ability in the midfield, then we are just circling the drain.
I'd rather take a longer term view and keep investing in exploring Hough in the midfield even if it costs us some goals.
Was at the game and Petch did not do anywhere near enough to warrant a promotion

Yeah as others have said, 2 goals sadly gives an overestimation of how good he actually was in the WAFL.
Looked disinterested, I honestly feel he's tapped out. Champion was better than he was and don't think his performance warranted a game either.
Would ideally be making up the Owies spot with a full game from Long and/or more forward time for Kelly/Gross.
