Do we even have the most traded in players??? I think its just overblown and exxagerated due to our success.

Do we have more players traded in that collingwood brisbane or hawks have had over the years??

Carlton currently have 15 players on their list who started their careers at other clubs:
- Blake Acres, Adam Cerra, Sam Docherty, Francis Evans, Orazio Fantasia, Lachlan Fogarty, Nick Haynes, George Hewitt, Elijah Holland, Mitch McGovern, Nic Newman, Marc Pittonet, Adam Saad, Zac Williams & Lewis Young

9 of them played on Sunday

And despite the outside noise, in the last 10 years or more, we have only traded in 2 stars, Danger and Cameron. Bailey Smith isn’t in their league yet.

For all the bleating about Geelong. Most of the league has got more players from elsewhere than we do.

A few reasons. Number one, they may believe that he could stay. Number two, they do not want to be Horne-Francis'd.

Robert Walls was really interesting on this when he talked about Nathan Buckley's Brisbane year in 1993. It was important - in a time when players didn't want to go, and didn't want to stay, and didn't want to take it seriously when they were there - to put the foot down.
Robert walls is very outdated with his thinking.

You only make someone stay for a very good reason, such as you believe you are a genuine premiership shot if they stay.

If you want to force a worker who doesnt want to be with you to remain at your organisation, nothing good comes of it.

You can look at melbourne as your example of current times. The club is a cultural joke and has held players hostage to remain there

Absolutely. And you can add to this the fact that we lost the biggest free agent in the history of the game to a start-up club, as he was in the prime of his career. Nobody has lost as much in one FA transaction as we did.

Still, just easier to pretend that we've been screwing the whole competition in this way for years on end.

It's unfortunately a socialist way of thinking the attacks on geelong... Essentially its “ there must be some form of abuse or oppression causing inequality” and it cannot be due to skill or success of our club and coaches.

Its the belief that differences lie inequality of outcomes rather than due to skill and talent

I think what is dissapointing about his game is what his strength was as a draftee he has struggled to show at AFL level.

He can get involved in tackling, but he struggles with winning contested ball in clearances and contests.

This was his 1 wood as a junior... It is not translating at AFL

He has neither the strength or the endurance for that 1 wood to translate if he did he would be fine. Strength is build able endurance I don't know as it depends on genes as much as anything.

Agree. Worpel is one of only a handful of Horks players I can stand, he's not a grub like most of the others. And with Bruhn possibly out for good, we have a serious need for that kind of player in the midfield.

Hard to accept an offer when you haven’t made one to him

More than half our best 22 are guys that we drafted and developed.

We weren’t handed these blokes, Collingwood and Carlton are stacked with guys they brought in from elsewhere, Brisbane have a similar number to us. People just don’t like it when a club they don’t like does good recruiting.

They’re happy for minnows to pick up guys, it’s when powerhouses pick them up that they get their shit out of whack.
