Prediction Our next coach

Yeah fairly obvious why I didn't post the lyrics here isn't it.

Actually quite enjoy their music tbh. It's shit but it's fun and catchy.
"Oi loike potatoes and oi loike Jerkin and oi loike Freohhhhhhh... "

User name checks out and songwriter of the next Freo club song, purple potatoes...

Its fair to say that as Freo supporters we love a good underdog story. As much as I'd love a Bulldogs/Hawks type turnaround, those teams have coaches that are daring and JL is by contrast too conservative. He might have a good plan, but he's lost the playing group and the leaders did not stand up last night.

Garlick makes it complicated. If he did in fact double down on JL last night then we miss out on Longmire, as you say, another club will snap him up. I think an unproven coach is not the way to go. I'm all in for Longmire.
I wouldn’t worry about Garlick or the boards comments regarding supporting Jlo. Management 101 is to fully support an employee, even if you are looking for a replacement behind their back.

He’s not getting sacked Monday but I recon that performance has fired up the replacement machine and it will be going in the back ground till we drop the bundle or get our man.

Still wonder if we are capable of being absolutely ruthless and come Monday "Bye Justin"
Then start forming a board/selection panel of Premiership players, coaches to start planning for the next coach.

After over 30 years of limitted success - I'd be hiring the likes of Roos, Buckley, Matthews and former players such as Angus Brayshaw, Joel Selwood, Jared Roughhead... People have had the ultimate success but also had to deal with adversity (Brayshaw and potential CTE Roughhead beating cancer)

Get a coach that isn't "your friend" but is respected and you want to play for.

They're playing in my neck of the woods on May 8th. I've never heard of them until now. Listened to Jerkin... Safe to say I won't be going to see them...

I read the full story this morning. Garlick said it pre-match.

"The agreement means the fifth-year coach needs to continually hit performance markers to ensure his future at the club."
That only stars next year though. So jlo probably won't be assessed against these performance markers until at least halfway through next year

How likely our next coach is also JL ? Longmuir becoming Longmire or Justin remains Justin (Leppitsch) ?
Good point. Throw in Justin Langer and I'm just not sure the initials have got what it takes.

Appointing a new coach is not an off the shelf selection. There would be numerous interviews and the like before settling on the new coach. A few more performances like Fri night and he will be gone early but initially it would be a caretaker.

I very much doubt a new coach would want come in mid season without at least embedding some pre-season.

I can’t think of ever a scenario where a senior coach with experience has been appointed mid season and then gone onto coach long term. Happy to be proven otherwise.

I have my doubts as to whether our club is set up well enough to support an inexperienced coach.
The club as a whole is just not at the required level to drive success.
Hence I want an experienced coach from a well run organisation.

That limits our options
Exactly - it's why we must throw everything at horse Longmire.

Chris Scott still top of my list. Not sure how we'd make it happen though.

Happens in almost all other sporting codes so I don’t see why it couldn’t work in the AFL. Especially with someone like Longmire being available.

It won’t though. It’s the afl and very little changes when it comes to these things. JLo will get as long as possible, most likely until finals is 100% done and a caretaker will coach the final 2-3 weeks. I have come to terms with the fact that this season is a complete write off.

Yeah the earliest we see a care taker is the bye.
