Can we get a ruck in the mid season draft ?

Yes and it needs to be a tall one close to 210cm+. Sick of these ~200cm rucks that cant jump either. And we have 4 of them in the WAFL that arent getting much better, so I would be culling 2 or 3 of them asap. Jamo better develop as a backman because he is one of them.

Kelly either isn’t right physically. Just has no run or burst, or, he’s just given up.

Either way he shouldn’t be playing in the seniors.

Harley was incredibly disappointing. Ranking point wise this was his worst game of the season.


10 CBD's for 0 clearances says a bit. If Kelly wasn't such a selfish prick he'd have blocked Viney more for him.

In fact this was the first game in Harleys entire 28 game career that he finished without a clearance.

Either way Harley was pretty bad defensively. Only 1 tackled laid, but more importantly i just didn't see the urgency from him in defending, bit like Maric.




+ At least with the Beagles getting up and some decent performances there should HOPEFULLY be some pressure on spots and selection integrity this week.

If I am being kind, I think Simmo’s been told to tone down the humility and give his opinions. Early on, he regularly used to jokingly, but not joking say, ‘well, if I could change all the things I am pointing out now when I was in the job, I wouldn’t be sitting here talking to you about it’. That change is about positioning himself as an influential voice in the media.

If I am being unkind, I’ll never forget when a host said to him ‘Simmo, let’s talk about your team, West Coast’, and he immediately jumped in and said ‘West Coast is not my team. North Melbourne is my team.’ That stung a bit.

If I am being reasonable, he’s just a guy who is trying to make a living, and he cuts through the traditional media echo chamber. But I grind my teeth when it is Eagles related.

What a bunch of sooks you two are, least he offers something in the box instead of the absolute dribble that comes out of pav and Schofields mouth. I reckon he’s great combats the hatred from pav and puts him in his place occasionally.

I'll redo the sentiments that Ginbey was immense and Hewett was great. Three goals for the lad. Wowee.

The negative I'll put it there - I really don't know what is going on the game plan, and the team is right there with me.

Defensively, there are too many holes too.

I'm sure it's just growing pains, and needs some time to marinate before it becomes second nature to the lads. They just seemed so static moving the ball forward. Weren't really working hard to provide options etc.

Also, we need to get Hewett and Reid at more centre bounces. I can only assume that'll happen as their fitness increases.

Don't be so precious - he provides unique insight into our team and players, and clearly is on our side wanting the boys to succeed and at the very least applies balanced criticism valuing every player, and then just going - and these are the elements they need to work on.

It's easy to be angry at Simmo and blame him for our shitness, but as we are seeing now he's gone we are worse than ever. Wasn't his fault, he's not the list manager and didn't have control over AFL houses rorted system.

Simmo seems like a genuinely good human being. You can feel he may have hung on too long as coach, but not sure how you can have an issue with him as a person and commentator

Whole thing is pretty absurd. When has a coach ever been sacked and then rocked up the following season to exclusively commentate games for his old club? I don't believe he does any other teams does he?

Gov gets pinged for what Melbourne got away with all night. It's ok to use your arms to keep your opponent in position to stop him from backing back on you. However when you use your arms to push someone forward that is a push in the back.
Not blaming the umps for our shit performance , just asking for consistency from the 4 maggots umpiring the game.
4 maggots = 4 different interpretations of the same rule.
The other thing that they are ignoring is throws that are supposed to be handballs.
Umpiring standards have declined since McBurney and Muma Kane got appointed.

They must prefer having Derm saying "GOOOOOD BOYYYY" over and over.

Simpson actually provides some analysis which barely any commentator does. You can tell he's a proper fan of the game in the way he talks, its refreshing.

Presumably we aren’t able to insist on standards like when McGovern was sent to the fat farm.

I said it a couple of weeks ago when comparing the body shape of Will Graham from Gold Coast who was taken in the same draft as Harley. Absolutely cut without an ounce of fat on him.

He clearly doesn’t work hard enough on the fitness and non-footballing (training sessions not involving a football) aspects of preparation.

Does Freo home games too, and does one Victorian game per week for SEN.
I think his analysis is refreshing instead of the usual suspects stating the obvious or just sticking the boot in just because they can through out the game.
But then again I have no anger or hate towards Simmo yeah he played part in creating this mess but he also won a premiership and for the most part of his tenure we were successful.

Nah, he's right, this was absolutely piss-poor. It happened right in front of me, Graham was with his man just outside the forward 50 and his man ran forward to get involved in the play and Graham looked at him and slowly jogged after him, could probably still have caught him but Graham looked at him again and just started walking. Resulted in a goal and killed any momentum we had coming out of half time. And it was literally 2 minutes into the half.

Wonder if schoey is a bit salty about that, finally got the gig in the box last year to be thrown back out for his former coach that used to always drop him.

Harley is proving too much of a liability through middle at the moment. He should be playing as a forward with short bursts through the middle until he's got himself in the condition of an AFL player. I hope this year is a big lesson for him and he has a huge pre season next year.

With yeo dead and kelly deserving to go back to the wafl again, that all leaves us very exposed in the middle. Put baker in there and leave him there for the year.
