We are a shit team that doesn't have forward 50 entries, and when we do, they are unpredictable, slow and rubbish.

Struggle to see any small forward making a good showing goals wise in our team.

Just proves what is one teams trash can be another teams treasure if they fill a role that’s needed

Macrae is hardly trash compared to some of the names we have picked up. He had lost his edge a fair bit and was out of favour but he’s a former star midfielder of the comp - miles from the examples provided (SPS, Langdon, Hunt, Flynn, etc)

A direct correlation between hit outs and clearance numbers, don’t try to tell me it’s not the ruckman!

Go look at the Brisbane suns game yesterday.

Suns won the Hit outs comfortable 51/39 and got smashed in clearances 47/28, centre clearance 12/5, stoppage clearances 35/24.

Allan has shown an ability to find it at VFL level atleast.

Allan has a couple of 30+ VFL games under his belt and almost 20 games of getting 20+. Chesser has gotten 20d just once.

Keen to see how the rest of the year plays out for Chesser but Allan would still have more value just from runs on the board than Chesser.

I see Chesser as a line breaking HBF or wing. Whether he's AFL level or not, is a different story.
I see Allan as either a CBD mid, or a Braun type transition from half back to half forward.

Players like Chesser, you don't want them having more than 20 per game.

For me it's all about the midfield. Can't compete in the middle, can't get their hands on the ball = low inside 50's for the smalls to do their work. Uncompetitive in the middle, slaughtered in the clearance, little pressure when the ball's surging the other way = easy inside 50's for oppo team and our backs get hammered.

Once our middle gets sorted and organised (which will take some time by the looks of it) and certain senior players are moved on we'll look infinitely better.

Whilst I somewhat agree, certainly have been of that opinion for a few weeks however he was just god awful on the weekend. Now I just don't think he is any good.

Is averaging 35 Disposals a game, high footy IQ, has been in the system, seems to have matured significantly since then, and looks super fit (A question in his Draft year), 25 years of age, 190cm, leadership qualities.
Not sure Parfitt would be delivering the results he is delivering in the WAFL without Charlie, could Charlie offer the same benefit to Harley in the middle?

Macrae fell out of favour with Luke Beveridge, plus he is 31 this year which is why he went cheap. It's a win for all parties because St Kilda got a boost in the midfield and the Dogs have improved even with Bont missing the first handful of games. Macrare has 60 clearances, next best is Steele with 29. Dogs have Kennedy, Liberatore and Richards all over 40 and now Bont is back.

2021 Macrae led the comp in disposals and handballs, 3rd in kicks and clearances - and only polled 14 Brownlow votes. He's a good player but if he got 25 touches a game instead of 30+ no one would notice him.

Thought he did some nice things against Essendon, but in the main he has been bad. Should be swapped for Long this weekend.

I was very doubtful on him being legitimate but have heard enough behind the scenes to no longer have those doubts.

Who has street cred here though? BOND007 who’ll drop in once a month with the most cryptic post that proves nothing, lol? Phil said he was in West Coast’s draft room last year, he was on BigFooty during it.

He said he had to take over from Matt Clarke in negotiations too, like there’s no way grown adults actually believe the dribble that comes out of his mouth.

He has said this will be his last season working at a club for 3 consecutive years only for each year to then pop up around draft time, claiming he’s a “consultant” for another club.

He's the wrong type of small forward I think.

His pressure is okay but he's more a lead up type. We're in dire need of a genuine X factor, goal sneak type small forward, who can hunt. Luckily we have one or two of those developing

Of course he’s not.

Clearly he was ‘trash’ for WB as they were ready to move and their wasn’t a role for him in their side and that looks the right move.

Saints needed a mid to fill that role for them and he’s doing it well.
