One wonders if the F/S selection will be ended in the near future.

I know Steven's uncle. Apparently young Oscar can play a bit if he 'gets his head right.' more of a forward. He might play Falcons next year but I'll find out more.So an update on the status of father sons from the cohort then:
Has anyone seen Graham, King, or 2nd Wojo?

Will have a lot of trouble drafting Tom Harley’s son if he makes itSo an update on the status of father sons from the cohort then:

I hate that. Same as north (or Brisbane) missing out on Blakey, why coz his dad works for themWill have a lot of trouble drafting Tom Harley’s son if he makes it
Will be in the Sydney academy and will almost certainly pick the swans over us
. I mean there is no way Blakey was doing anything else growing up but playing Aussie rules no matter where he lived.I wouldn’t think so the rule change has limited the sooking from opposition supporters who fail to realise that we had more F/S that didn’t make it than those that turned out goodOne wonders if the F/S selection will be ended in the near future.
Bailey Scott had a choice out of Us and North for F/S and the GC academyI hate that. Same as north (or Brisbane) missing out on Blakey, why coz his dad works for them. I mean there is no way Blakey was doing anything else growing up but playing Aussie rules no matter where he lived.
This is actually a reason I was extra excited Stevie J is back in the Geelong region...Will have a lot of trouble drafting Tom Harley’s son if he makes it

Currently Stevie J son , is a long way from being any goodThis is actually a reason I was extra excited Stevie J is back in the Geelong region...
And?? He's also 13... If he shows anything, and local you can bet the Cats will have an eye on him and look to do work with him to develop him...Currently Stevie J son , is a long way from being any good

Iv got good mates who there sons play in the same team as his boys, and many mates sons play against him....And?? He's also 13... If he shows anything, and local you can bet the Cats will have an eye on him and look to do work with him to develop him...
Not being an option for those academy rorts is a win for me.
I'm not assuming anyone makes it, but the less chance someone else pinching a son of a gun if they do make it the better

Something huge would have to change for him to get a sniff at it...
You cannot judge kids future at that age. When I was a kid there was another kid made up the numbers playing on a wing. He ended up playing over 200 games at Carlton.Iv got good mates who there sons play in the same team as his boys, and many mates sons play against him....

More likely than not you can tell if a kid has future at a kid that is in year 8You cannot judge kids future at that age. When I was a kid there was another kid made up the numbers playing on a wing. He ended up playing over 200 games at Carlton.
There were definitely some kids i was correctly writing off in year 8.More likely than not you can tell if a kid has future at a kid that is in year 8
I'm not saying it's 100% the case, but the kids who do have a gift at football you can see it at a young ageThere were definitely some kids i was correctly writing off in year 8.
Not footy related
Property destruction is also a gift it seemsI'm not saying it's 100% the case, but the kids who do have a gift at football you can see it at a young age

Sounds like King could be a goer thenHow good is APS ? What was Dempsey playing when we drafted him...
JackG being on a Coates League Club list gives one confidence that there may be something there. If he is a KPD ..im sure we will be watching his progress. Steven Kings son sounds different to him…if he is described .as a hard running player with a good tank.
Xavier College
FATHER-SONS AND NGAs
Saxena is part of Collingwood’s NGA, while Jack Graham – the son of AFL Cat turned NFL punter Ben – is a key defender returning from injury who will figure for Xavier throughout the season. Graham is in the Oakleigh Chargers squad but is yet to feature in 2025 at the time of writing.
Wesley College
FATHER-SONS AND NGAs
The son of former Geelong captain and St Kilda player Steven King, Oscar, will feature for Wesley this season despite only being in year 10. He’s a hard-running player with a really good tank and is developing well. Wesley will also boast Sam Anderson, who is the son of ex-Kangaroo and Docker Stuart, as well as Judd Burgiel. While not a father-son, Burgiel is the brother of Coby, who was drafted to West Coast in 2022.
It's a pretty good standard, indeed Dempsey was plucked from the APS system. How good is APS ? What was Dempsey playing when we drafted him...
