Easy to suspend a bloke when he's already withdrawn from the game.

If he's withdrawn from the game, and the AFL have subsequently suspended him for a game, then shouldn't the suspension be served the next time he makes himself available?

Just another manufactured outcome from those gamemasters at the AFL.

I don't think Port have any control over him. All they can do is drop him, we did it with Rachele (for far far less) but there are a lot of other sensitivities to work through there unfortunately.

Looking at the teams both sides have played so far:

Not the best reading for either club, Ports 'good' win vs the Hawks - their only one against a non-bottom 4 team.

Our wins have also been against fairly ordinary teams, GWS in the wind tunnel being our outlier.

Still a few weeks away from getting a read on where we sit this year.

If we beat Port and the real Magpies next week we'll be able to say we've actually improved (more than just adding 3 best 18 players over the offseason)

Why oh why didnt we rest Tex against Freo. Instead we sent the old fella on a 3 and a half hour flight - left him on the ground for 89% of the game and then put his old ass on a 3.5 hour flight back home. Even worse is we did that and we still lost.

Made all the sense in the world (even with FOG out) and games against Carlton, Port and Collingwood right after.

I dont care if FOG/TT are both suspended - we have to rest him against the Eagles, Hawks or bulldogs, then the eagles / roos again.

Penalties need to come from the AFL not the clubs. Clubs are never going to punish themselves properly if at all.

AFL are being chicken shit for obvious reasons.

Got ahead of it. Went the lighter side of what they thought the AFL would do figuring there was more chance of the AFL letting it stand than overriding it. Gives you more of a chance at a better result than just living it up to the mood of the people at the AFL on the day of the punishment.

We're very good at punishing ourselves.
AFC - Rachele pointing at his teeth = 1 game
PAFC - Rioli threatening another player after a game via txt = 0 game

Hell, we nearly suspended Vince for doing a 'pants down' around the pool table at a pub with his mates.

Crows win after the siren courtesy of a Rankine goal, has a three fold effect, Karma for taking him out last year, breaks the Port supporters hearts with a narrow loss and three makes Ken's position still secure as coach.
