Booing players is not an inherently racist act. People booing Goodes was racist. But not because they performed the act - it was racist because of why they performed the act.

People wernt booing Goodes because he is Indigenous, they were booing him because he acted like a flog.
He refused to take any personal responsibility for him own actions that played a role in it.
Why wasnt Gavin Wanganeen and Andrew McLeod booed? Why wasn't Shaun and Peter Burgoyne booed? Why wasn't Stiffy Johncook booed? Wayne Milera? Peter Matera?
Infact, they wernt booed and were adored by the general football public. Everyone I know thinks Silk, Macca, Gavin etc are all total gentlemen and they respect the shit out of them. Not quite the thing a racist would do.

The issue with Goodes was that he was booed by certain teams supporters, just like Lever and McGovern are booed by Crows supporters, or Tex is booed by Ports.
He then retaliated to the supporters which just increased their booing. Then, when other teams supporters saw it was getting to him they also booed him. Then, when he, the Swans, the AFL and the Virtue Signaling media types like Caro said people shouldn't do it because it was racist, they did it even more to stuff it up them.

He was an adversarial player who egged on the "rivalry" and then couldn't hack it in the end and threw his toys out of the cot.

Now, having said that, he was an absolute star on the field. One of the best of his generation, and as a patriotic Croweater, I was really proud to see how good he was.
I would have loved him in the Crows side.

issue (which the AFL had already signed off on). AFL got a bit upset with Port that they had been kept out of the loop in regards to Willie, but Port stood their ground and not much the AFL could do. Remains to be seen whether Port are doing the right thing by Willie long term. Time will tell, but he does not seem mentally stable and one week away doesn't seem long enough to get healthy. He is a Port player and port ultimately have the duty of care for player welfare. Doesn't look like they are doing a very good job rolling him out each week to kick goals while his mental state declines.
