If we see a repeat of last Friday night where St Kilda employed a vintage Ross Lyon gameplan and bored everyone to sleep I'll be annoyed we didn't plan for it.

I feel like out contest work should be enough to counteract it, with the one concern (and it's a big one for us...) being that the Saints will absolutely feast on our long blind bombs forward. We have to use the ball smarter, sitting it up blindly forward will crucify us.

Anyone getting the feeling Charlie a late out for Pitto?
Have it on good authority that there will be two late outs. Binns and White out for Pitto and bringing back Marchbank.

Voss isnt sure we have enough height in that backline and wants to play 6 KPDs

Calling it now.

Binns to full forward and Young on the wing.
That’s big!

Let the beast loose!!!

I endured the game against the Saints in the last round 2024.
That Carlton really sucked. And Ross sucks. Expecting tonight’s game to suck.
IMO the Blues were very good in this game, we had to play with a bunch of youngsters as TDK, Charlie, Harry, Cerra, Gov and other first choice players were out. Nobody gave the Blues a chance before the game.

I laughed at this but then soon realised if Marchy was still on the list it probably would of happened.

Don't mind giving Evans another crack, has gone back to the reserves and done what he has to. It's not like Motlop or Fog are playing great, both have had very slow starts to the year.

I feel Charlie will be a late out with Young forward, either that or Charlie will hobble around on one leg and watch his player launch multiple runs out of defence

Silvagni will surely go back as he adds some grit and calmness to our back line.

It will be interesting to see if we respond in any way, shape or form

Seen lots of "Which Carlton turns up" posts, but tbf I think the same Carlton has showed up most games. Was the stat we've won every first qtr except one? Further we've been ahead at half time every game except last week?

I don't think we have to worry about whether or not as we show up as every week, last week was the only outlier. It's just whether we sustain it long enough.

Big game tonight. A loss you'd think could be the flick of the domino.

  • Losing to this stain of a club is on levels of losing to * and Pies
  • We go 3-6 in a season of expectations with loss to Richmond being exceptionally unacceptable
  • Selection of certain players back in, and maintaining selection of under performers
  • 100,000 members will expect and probably do deserve some answers and courses of action from a very silent leadership
  • Media will be salivating and it will become a huge focus
If the players can't get up for this they rightly will deserve the ensuing onslaught.

Not sure about this. Young is a 5th string tall defender. Are there many better 5th string tall defenders in the comp that have the versatility to play on any line?

Bit of Carlton fans overrating our own here. Most clubs have a versatile key position depth option, we just wouldn't know their name, nor care to. Much like they would for Young.

Acres would be on every list in the competition. Been out of form but over 23' and 24' was one of the better wingers in the AFL.

There is absolutely no way Acres would be getting games in any other top 8, or even top 10-12 side. He's looked like a proper slow, inefficient list clogger the entire year. He is going at 58% DE and 47% KE, it's awful to watch.

Cowan, Lord, Motlop and White are all young, developing players which all teams including top 4 teams have.

They're young, developing indeed. If we saw them on an oppositions line up would we be impressed though? None are screaming 'future 200-gamer', except maybe Cowan - in a real 'reliable back-pocket 200-gamer' way.

Looking at that lineup, the difference between the bottom 10 players vs. the better teams bottom 10 is fairly dramatic imo.
