Calder have a few Under 17's in the team to play Northern Territory tonight at Highgate (6:30pm),

Calder now have 2026 eligible named this week;

Is there a stipulated length of time spent in the NGAs needed to be eligible for priority selection in the draft?

I am no expert but IIRC to be eligible for northern academies priority draft selection you need to have been in the academy for a minimum term(3 years?).

No requirement to be in the academy for a minimum term, just to live in the zone for that period.

eg. Harris Andrews wasn't part of academy until he was 18, but Lions had priority access as he lived in the zone his entire life.

If some kind has a good year now as a 17 year old and the bring him in at 18, they still have priority access. Much like they would for this Tyan Prindable kid.

Pretty sure there are requirements for the nga academies. Believe I read somewhere a kid had to be part of a team’s academy from the age of 15.

Eligibility​

• Players aged between 11-18 years (Born 2007-2014)
• Players must be registered with the Naitanui Academy by their 15th year, to be eligible for any draft concessions through the AFL NGA Program
• Indigenous – where a player identifies as indigenous
• African/Asian – where a player or parent is born in an African or Asian country
• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) – where a player or both parents are born in a non-English speaking country

Some other clubs supporters have said their rules could be different. This could also old and not have been updated.

Haha think he was injured, then played and then has played last 2 weeks in APS for Scotch.

The CTL originally allocated his stats to our 2025 NGA as well haha.

Haggas do you not rate McGlade ?
I would have him way higher than that top ten easily
He is the best genuine small forward from WA in a while.
Incredibly special.
I love Garrison as well but the bard does things very few can do.

haha...c'mon my man 22 for McGlade is pretty high on a national list. I reckon Lachlan is special also. Last couple of weeks though, has been a bit quiet.
