Probably about time we get this thread started and having something to look forward to.

Eagles coming off a very close loss vs Richmond and have yet to score a win this year. They will be motivated to get a win at home but ultimately they are struggling in all aspects of the game.

Whilst we had flaws in our game vs the Blues I still think we played overall reasonably well and wasted opportunities were the main culprit.

With no genuine big key forwards I suspect Howard will be rested as I do not believe his abductor is 100% right.

Possible ins are Shoenmaker if Dougal is rested/injured and all of Travaglia/Clark/Jones made a case for selection in the VFL..

Wood is a guarantee in if he is good from his head knock.

Do we swing Caminiti back instead of Howard and bring in a different tall? Keeler was not prominent on the weekend but WCE might be a good opponent for him to have impact. Heath didnt effect the score board but was very active around the ground with 17 touches and 8 marks with a piece of soap for a footy.

Out: Howard, collard,

In: wood, travaglia

B: Webster, caminiti, stocker
Hb: Sinclair, Wilkie, travaglia
C: Wilson, macrae, windhager
Hf: phillipou, wood, owens
F: Higgins, Sharman, hall
Foll: Marshall, Steele, NAS
Int: oconell, Byrnes, Garcia, boxshall
Sub: Hill

Keels has been a bit of a disappointment to me, I really wanted him to do well.
We all think Lancey Boy is going to break out at any moment but it just ain’t happening.
Trav has been fairly meh in his games.
Hastie and Liam are only just honest plodders.
Ari just looks lost.
Darcy has gone completely off the boil.
Hally has showed a bit, he’s been a positive.
Everyone wants to drop Monty but he’s been streets beyond all of the above.
Ro and Steelo are just going through the motions.
Hilly has lost all hand eye coordination.
Hammer has the hardest set of hands in the league.
Our champion full forward can’t even get on the park.
Our vfl side is an absolute non entity, they’re actually an embarrassment.
When we lose we get absolutely flogged and when we win we look like world champions.
Apart from all that we’re not really travelling all that badly.

RUOK?

Some pretty sore boys at the end of Friday night, Howard in particular looked hampered.

If there was ever a game to get Harry Boyd another run, it's this one. So I wouldn't be surprised if Howard missed out, Caminiti went back, Marshall went forward and Boyd played.

Wood comes in and plays the role Phillipou played. Pou goes into the middle for probably Boxshall.

And Jones comes in for Collard and replaces him as sub. The other option is Clark but I wouldn't have Clark as the sub. If Clark plays the sub is probably Garcia.

In: Boyd, Wood, Jones
Out: Howard (inj), Boxshall, Collard

In: Wood, Zones, Butler.
Out: Doogs, Boxshall / Garcia, Collard.

Doogs gets a rest since he didn't look right. Wood isn't like for like but Hammer can play back while Wood plays mainly forward.

Zones didn't just bang down the door, he ran right through it. Box has had a taste and clearly has upside but we need to be winning this game.

Butler for Collard fairly obvious.

Not confident
I feel as confident as possible as a saints supporter in the middle of whatever it is we are in... Having said that if we show up like the dogs/crows game we will be in a scrap. I think weve at least been passable in every other game (even the Lions game they were good and we got shafted with some horrible frees at critical times).

Boyd is too slow for AFL

I generally agree but Bailey Williams is not quicker.

I don't really care if it is Boyd or Heath or Keeler or Dodson. But I doubt Howard will play and next cab off the rank as a tall defender is Caminiti so we need a forward to replace him.

We have got 9 days to recover from the Carlton game so Dougal plays,Boxhall deserves another shot at it especially as he's earned his spot through his VFL numbers until he puts 3 bad ones on the trot.
We would want Howard to be 100% properly though as we have the suns the following week and he is 100% needed to match up on King and Andrew in that forward line.

Not to beat a dead horse but seeing people on here stridently defend Liam Stocker as a shining light while suggesting we should look at dropping Jack Steele makes me wonder if I'm watching the same games as everyone else.

Boxshall plays

1: cos it's shit to bring him up then dump him immediately, again
2: WC's midfield is one we can compete against
3: he's a WA kid, and we are playing in WA, invite his family, immerse them in the rooms and team.

If we lose, it's not because of 1 kid

Disagree. Bring in our best team to win otherwise this year is gone. Jones defiantly worth bringing in. As well as Clark and wood

Pretty much this. If we don’t win this game in particular our season could very easily go into freefall, and that would be disastrous on a number of fronts.

We need Nas to re-sign and our trade targets who we’ve opened up so much cap space for to want to come to us, and that’s all a lot less likely to happen in we sink to the bottom of the ladder, and have everyone bagging the shit out of us.

No more f’ing around, no more half our midfield being very inconsistent teenagers who were late picks and who aren’t Joel Selwood/Nick Daicos type freaks.

Something that can absolutely cost you games of footy.

Each to their own, but your description covers 90% of our team, only 1 player atm that's not approaching 30 meets the second
