You know who can be Josh Dunkley, the midfield defender? Erasmus. Simple. Problem solved
I was pretty confident after the WAFL GF that he would take the step this year. But now I don’t know if it’s him or me. He could still pop this year if given an opportunity.

Johnson has taken a big step in getting his hands on the ball, but he needs to use better.

Having one or both of those guys taking a big step in the second half of this year would be great. But I’m not as confident they make that lower A grade level that I assumed at draft.

“WA is an unbelievable to place to be when you’re 18, 19, like it’s a great party and these Perth boys go back at 22 and all their mates have sort of grown up a bit,”

“There’s so many people that got a trade back to WA and then came back, not mentioning one that potentially could be coming back soon ... let’s hope.” - Max Gawn

Could say that about Melbourne.. great place for a 20 year old but once you’re 30, it’s a tough place to buy into and expensive..
Since when is Perth a party city? First I ever heard of that. V Melbourne ? Melba is easily the party centre of Australia

Dunkley was a ball magnet since his first season. Erasmus could become a De Boer type.

Not exactly true in the context of Dunkley versus Erasmus.

Dunkley really only started to get going in the second half of his 3rd season. And his 3rd season is roughly the equivalent of Erasmus being in this current season (his 4th), considering Erasmus was born in December and Dunkley in January.

Over Dunkley's first two seasons, he played 24 full games and averaged 15.5 possessions. His 1st year was better (16.9 touches), and then in his 2nd year (12.3 touches) he must have had a bad injury judging by the block of games he missed.

Erasmus has played 26 games, and in the full games (only 11) he has averaged 16.6 possessions.

So there's not that much between them over the start of their career for ball getting, apart from our insistence on making Erasmus the sub so many times.

Tackling machine for Dunkley ... that is another story as young Dunkley has Erasmus covered there. But Ras still racks up big numbers for Peel and that should translate to AFL level if given the appropriate role.

Yep , what an absolute quintessential Melb/vic centric wankfest view .

So we can assume max spent his late teens partying it up in Perth to come up with that view did he?

And then what once said teens hit their 20s it’s all over is it?
Meanwhile in hipster/greatest city in the world(seriously just ask a melbournite),the party just keeps rolling on??

I mean it’s such ridiculous take that it’s actually the complete opposite .

Melbourne- great place to be in young 20s but after that if your looking to settle down , who the **** would want to live /raise a family in Melbournes outer suburbs??, they’re complete shitholes

Max is a smart guy and I don’t think he’d come to that take unless he’d heard it from someone who’d had that experience. With Jackson’s falling out with family and friends it seems to be possible that the take is straight from Jackson’s mouth/dms.

Couple this with Xavier Ellis’ comments on HBG today ‘Melbourne people are very confident’ I think the reality is pretty bleak for Fremantle.

He’d cost them a fortune if we were nice enough to let him leave

Nope he's untradeable. Tell him no we'll pay for your therapy but you are staying here.

Remember he is “talking” to Pickett as well. They were pretty awful against the Hawks, their new President is o/s and the new CEO doesn’t start until September. Clayton is probably on the way out too, he is trying to push back against the narrative as a captain should. Jacko might be contemplating a move but he has a long term contract so the answer is no.

Unpopular take I know but I don’t think Jackson is big enough to be a full time first ruck. Not for me
You're right, he isn't. And we have already seen what happens when he is forced to ruck as the main man week in week out, his output drops.
People need to accept what he is - a high end impact player that can tear games apart when he is on song but can also go missing in some games. In other words, he and Kossie are just vertically opposite versions of the same prototype. If we can get a sweetener our way with it, swapping Kossie for Jacko isn't terrible business

Cleary reckons Jacko is in the process of changing managers. Did he not just change in the last year? If he's trying to change again after that Afl.com.au article about extending him earlier this year then it's a bad sign.
