Off work sick so been watching all the videos and highlights of the game. Just wanted to say how well Jason Castagna spoke when he presented Simms with his jumper. Nice to see him back at the club

the afl "experts" really got it wrong in the preseason, we have better top end experienced players than the eagles. we were always going to have a better season then them. they rely on kelly, baker and graham to win every week, just not realistic reliable option. we have lynch and vlaustuin as book ends and nank, taranto and hopper in the middle. that's a much better mix of experience. i said all pre season we were underestimated and they were overestimated and that's proven very true so far
Probably our injury smashed year last year made us look worse than we were

Haven't seen so much footy this year.
Short was more damaging when he used to receive the handball, from the stationary player, and kick on the run at goal from the 50-metre arc.
Perhaps they have restricted his role, doesn't play with so much free licence.

An effective disposal is a disposal that either hits a target, or is to a contest if over 40m iirc.
Thanks for the correct definition but doesn't that definition mean if you don’t kick it out of bounds or straight to an opponent it’s deemed to be an effective possession? Also if you kick the ball 16 metres to a teammate is that an effective possession?

If the kick is under 40m to a contest it is not an effective disposal iirc.

how and why did harry armstrong do a 13 week hamstring ? since when are hamstrings 13 weeks if you arent having surgery ? wtf is going on
Well, we have learned from grimes young days. Take 4 5 weeks out come back do it again. Armstrong already has shown his abilities and we don't have much to play for so why rush him?

Of course it did. All the media could report was 'the young kids'.... Our backline has Balta, Broad, Vlastuin and Short in it. Plus some talent that emerged last year in Brown and Banks. Hardly a bunch of kids.

If injury hits we will be in trouble again, but at least those kids have had some good game experience and will be better off that last year. Dow and McAuliffe were our two centre mids for a good many games last year, say no more.

Seth did some good work on the defensive side too.
Talented, essential player.
Can get rid of other small forwards who were in contention for a position.
MRJ can only dream of what Mansell, Campbell (and I suspect Alger) are capable of delivering as a small forward.
Add Clarke’s return and MRJ and Green drop further back in order.
Green needs to get physically stronger.
