Clear 2nd favourite for the Rising Star surely. Ashcroft will win it and deserves to.

I said last week I'd like to see what he can do forward. And he showed yesterday he's more than capable. Could be his first Brownlow votes too.

And agree with Crusty Demon , very strange that his marking hasn't shown up yet at AFL level. Hopefully it gets there coz if it does we are looking at a special player.
He must have seen this. I reckon he took 3 contested grabs yesterday. What a great game by him. Couldn't be more excited by this player.

Yeah, wrapped to see what he was doing at under 18 level yesterday. Very Bont ish.

He's brilliant. If you exclude the game in which he was the sub he's averaging:

20.71 touches
4 marks
1 goal

Also he should be the clear favourite for the R/S.
Back in 2021 speaking with a Collingwood mate about DeGoey comparisons to Dusty, we worked out only Dusty, Bontempelli, Petracca and DeGoey averaged 20 disposals and a goal a game that year.

This year minimum 4 games this is the list so far.

Zach Merrett 29.8 - 1.0 (8 games)
Touk Miller 26.4 - 1.1 (8 games)
Bontempelli 25.8 - 1.5 (4 games)
Petracca 25.4 - 1.1 (9 games)
Rankine 22.6 - 1.3 (9 games)
Will Day 23.0 - 1.3 (4 games)
Matt Kennedy 23.6 - 1.1 (9 games)
Chad Warner 21.7 - 1.0 (9 games)
Ryley Sanders 20.6 - 1.0 (9 games)

Not including games as sub.

Harvey Langford 20.7 - 1.0 (7 games)

Not a bad start to his career.

Seriously talented kid. Easily comparable with Jackson and Kozzy for raw ability, just hope he doesn't leave :(
More concerned about him getting ruined and being used as purely an inside mid by an idiot coach who values contest and intent to tackle more than using his rare offensive attributes.

We're all forgetting the real hero here - Jack Higgins. If he doesn't kick that last-second goal in the Round 24 dead rubber, we don't get Langford.

Took two solid contested marks inside 50 so we'll probably be starving him to death as a struggling full forward by the end of the year.
He knows where the ball is going, top of the square. He knows where it will be coming from, directly above his head. And he also knows he'll have to beat 5 defenders and his team mates spoiling him in the making contest

What more does he need for success?
