Pretty clear Vic journos get their info from MFC and Perth journos from Freo. I still think it'd be unlikely he comes back to us but theres a lot to play out this year. He's hardly going to say he's requesting a trade end of year when he's contracted and Freo should play finals.

Looks like I posted this on the wrong club board, sorry.

Only those closest to him really know what is going on. For everyone else it is just guesswork.

I just think clubs should really hold players to their contracts, unless the player has extreme circumstances to leave. I mean on compassionate grounds or the like.

The more clubs hold players to their contracts the less if these situations we will see.

If it was genuinely on compassionate grounds he would go to any Vic club.

Just as an aside , does it still seem Goodwin gets the bullet if you guys miss finals?… one of the more eyebrow raises for me of this whole saga is the fact that one of the reasons the journos have trotted out as “evidence “ is doggas apparent close relationship with goody but conveniently leave the part out he’s very much no certainty to even be there himself next year ?

It’s truly a messy situation as he d be leaving one club that’s in disarray for another

Edit - as for the bold no chance of that

JACKSON 'LOVES' DOCKERS, SAYS MANAGER

THE MANAGER of Walyalup star Luke Jackson has insisted the gun ruckman is not preparing to seek a trade at the end of this season and remains happy living in Perth and playing with the Dockers.

Jackson's future has been a source of intrigue during his third season with the Dockers amid reports he could be tempted to return to Melbourne, where he was part of the Demons' 2021 premiership.

The 23-year-old has recently re-joined management company TGI Sport, with his agent Jason Dover telling AFL.com.au that the star tall's position had not changed since telling media in March that he was committed to playing with the Dockers long-term.

"I've spoken to Luke today and he has reaffirmed that he loves living in Perth and playing with Fremantle," Dover said.

"He's felt supported by the club and his teammates, and nothing has changed since he spoke to the media in March."

Jackson, who is contracted to the end of 2029, held a press conference ahead of his 100th game in round two, categorically ruling out a return to Victoria.

Asked if he would be playing with the Dockers long-term, he said: "I definitely will. I love Freo, I love playing at Freo … I'll definitely be here and I've loved my time here."

He was among Walyalup's best players through the first four rounds of the season, playing as the No.1 ruckman before suffering a hamstring injury just as ruck sidekick Sean Darcy was preparing to return from his own injury issues.

The athletic big man could return to the No.1 role against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday if Darcy remains sidelined after suffering a jarred knee last Thursday night against Collingwood. – Nathan Schmook

Apparently we have a full payout clause on Goody :$ - thought he was a lock to be gone until I read that.

I honestly think there is some truth to dogga wanting out but Melbourne are pushing it publicly through journos to erode your bargaining power on Kozzy as someone said earlier in here. Much easier to tell Kozzy at trade time 'We are happy to let you go if Freo let Jackson go' and make out like Freo are holding up the trade, as your interest in Kozzy was revealed way earlier.

Direct quotes from Jackson (over the same story a month ago) and his manager today along with Daniels, the Freo mouthpiece categorically denying this story which continues to originate from over East. Hopefully everyone will chill with the negativity about the club, Jackson, his partner and his family.

The strangest thing is he went left Dover for a year and went back to him. What did Dougal do haha...
Wild theory but do you think it's possible they began the Jackson to Melbourne rumours in an attempt to renegotiate what was a heavily front ended contract that then kick started Jackson's private life becoming far too public? Knowing who McDougall worked with and their relationship with the club, it isn't a long stretch for me.

Way too much smoke that this doesn't eventuate

4 years and a ruck is worth more than a small forward with 2 years

We paid 2 x firsts and a second, when uncontracted

So it's Kozzie plus picks

Or best offer to a Melb club

Or... no deal

Something like Jackson for Kozzie, a 2nd rounder and a future 3rd looks about right if they both request a trade.
