Not sure if Freo have ever won at Engie stadium. Think beat Giants at Manuka Oval in 2022, last round. Also I think earlier that year was the last time they played the Giants at home too (??).

I am sure your intentions are sincere and your support is pure, but the worst venture a football fan can endure is watching their team play GWS at Engie Stadium.

The stadium and atmosphere is as close as we'll ever have to the North Korean experience.
It's a shithole of a ground with no atmosphere.

**** all to have a drink either in homebush before the game.

I am what 25 mins from the ground and its still easier to get to the SCG in the city from where I am out west

It's not necessarily that the stadium is 'bad', its very bare bones but has a decent viewing experience.

I have a problem with what's inside the ground. Easily the worst atmosphere in sports. The fans are totally apathetic, whilst the gameday entertainment staff are screaming at you, trying to convince you that you're having fun. The last few times we've played there they haven't even bothered to designate an 'away' section for fans which makes it even worse... I am looking at tickets today and I can't see any option for an away block.

It's also kids get in free day and expected to rain. It's going to be hell on earth.

Can't wait.

In 2023 made the mistake of paying for 'premium' seating at Engie for myself and five friends.

The taxi ride was estimated to take 45 minutes from Surry Hills. It took 80 minutes and ended up costing us $120 and we arrived late for the game.

The purple piglets were down a few goals already by the time we made it to our seats, but there was a wild-eyed teenager sitting in one of our seats, the only section of six seats together available in our block.

He was sitting there with his equally wild family. I politely said to him,

'hey mate, I think you're in my seat, there's six of us and we can't fit in here otherwise'

He just turned to me with the deadest eyes I've ever seen, like he'd been lost at sea for three months surviving on seagull meat. And just turned back to the game, his parents didn't even look up

I went back up to ask an attendant if there was another row of six available because Huck Finn was in my seat. She looked down at the family and just said to me,

'Ahh, you'll have to find somewhere else'

And walked away.

We lost 106 to 36

That game was on birthday and didnt see a second of it.

Thankfully i was in a corporate box for my NRL side who won that night at the same time.

Eased the pain and had me wondering wtf actually happened as GWS weren't going great leading into that game.

Surely it means we just go smaller.

Swap Darcy for Erasmus, and make the other positional swaps needed.
Really think we should find a way for both Voss, McDonald to play.
Voss can rotate with Jackson in the ruck.
Jackson is multi positional and offers more than just rucking.
McDonald would offer more than Cox ATM.
Hogan getting off the leash last time from some ordinary defence.
Club needs to send a message that there are no favourites and poor form
anybody can get cut.
Same with Switta, make a statement and maybe turn around the season?

No matter what changes are made, we are going to have our arses handed to us by the Orange Team… I can feel the tremors in the force…

Can we just play Brodie to put the 5000 posts of speculation on BigFooty to an end.
Works great for those of us in the Sack Longmuir camp; every BF and Facebook Brodie Evangelist finally shuts up, and we get to lambast Longmuir for picking Brodie at all!

Maybe it was Rory Lobb that made all the difference in 2022..

Play Brodie to shut people up so they realise he's not that good. People reckon genuinely he's the same player he was three years ago.
Yeah, do it… just like the club is playing the likes of Switta, Freddy, Amiss, Johnson, Cox et all for us to realise that they’re not that good… are any of the above any different to Brodie in terms of what they’ve done in the last 3 years?

Yes. The difference is they're real AFL players, and if they were in the state league for longer than a month their managers would get calls.

Yes, yes they are.

Sean Darcy didn't fly so is out. Reidy, Aish and Banfield on the plane.
