our forward line is the biggest problem imo, we acknowledged that at the draft. id be very surprised if lefau doesnt slot in once he gets a few vfl games under his belt. the young forwards are showing signs but lynch still carries way too much. need another contested mark down there to go with lalor. get alger in for green, cant be any worse.

Yes, it’s partly personnel but it’s also system. These long, floating entries are totally ineffective and easily defended. We also make a lot of kicks to pockets, which never work out. We need to get the **** away from each other and start stretching the defence, rather than always letting them dictate.

I'm not sure why everyone is getting emotional about the result. This game in the scheme of things means absolutely nothing. Both teams are rebuilding.

Both teams get draft picks at the end of the season. The future matters. Not the here and now.

Seriously, think about this game and this season in that context.

I'm not sure if you were at the game, but I was, and if people are upset, good on them; it shows they care.
People commenting is based on roar emotion as the game just happened.

Yes, not heartbreaking in the grand scheme of things, but geez, we had our chances.

Taranto in the last should've nailed that goal to put us in front. Lynch and Campbell missed two easy ones in the 3rd.
And a couple of turnovers, which also cost us goals.

All in all a very good effort but we let this slip as we were the better side.

I just got back from the game. We were the better side after the first quarter. It would have been nice to win, but we’re better off in our position than them. In the end, experience the difference , and we had our chances.

Would nominate three reasons we lost - none related to inexperience:

  1. Nick Vlastuin (pushed over by a 20-year-old, which led to the Larkey goal)
  2. Tim Taranto (missed one that a top player would slot)
  3. Tom Lynch (see Taranto; also did nothing but sook all day)

Seth Campbell is amazing.
3.2 and could’ve had 4 if a bit more composed with 15d is the type of stats we’ve been crying for out of our smalls for a long time.

He’s linking up the ground is something that’s excelled so much in 25.

Lalor stands up in the big moments and chips in with a few goals and 16.
I’d say over the course of the year he’s doing better than I originally expected considering he’s soft tissue injuries pre draft and general conditioning.

Benny gale once told me seth reminds him of kane lambert. He is righty

Our smalls also push up and lead, so when se inevitably go long to a tall, they are never in position to crumb the spilled ball.

$1.5 mil a year why would he retire
I don’t know his financials, but he should be pretty well setup for retirement. Though it would be hard to refuse an additional 3 million.
Strikes me as a selfish prick; suspect he’d need to be pushed
Probably. I suspect most elite coaches are full of themselves and more than a little insane.

Sims put together another nice game

Only real negative was when he got ran down on the wing but that’s just inexperience

Will definitely learn from that one

Poor kid had nothing in front of him.
Should’ve just kicked it to grass. Would’ve copped a deliberate or Norf bloke gets there first anyway.

Very annoying to can and death ride North and when it’s our turn we can’t get the job done.
KMac kicks his 2nd goal in the last for the players to lift off…. Nothing.
Poor goal kicking and some awful ball movement out of defence.
Let’s hope we beat them in Hobart. 1-1
