Our ball use was eyeball poking inducing, but we needed a win to validate some decent effort of the last few weeks. I expected us to get run off our feet pretty early.

The improvement is snail pace slow, but it's there.

So I was thinking this after the repeat ball ups on the wing in the final minute. Given grabbing it out of the ruck is no longer an automatic holding the ball if you don't dispose of it, surely with Xerri's strengths a valid strategy for closing out a close game would be for him to just continually take it out of the ruck and be tackled? Rinse and repeat would take around 10-20 seconds off the clock at a time

It’s weird I get that Richmond are shit blah blah but hang on just one second….they still have premiership players running around; vlaustin, balta, nank, lynch, macintosh, broad, plus add in hopper and Taranto and they aren’t as bad as everyone says (maybe?)

Sorry can't really agree with that. Clear winner in 1st, clearly Tigers lifted pressure and won 2nd but not by enough in trhe end. We drew third and only lost fourth by 1 point (2.2 to 2.1).

My read was it was fairly evenly matched, both teams have good youth but ours combined performed better over the whole game. Tiger's older players were steadier when the heat was on, while ours weren't.

They were not good enough to capitalise on our many errors late in the game. The steadieness you speak of was on display where their structures are still pretty sound shown where they were continually able to go coast ro coast cutting through our lines.

Great 1st quarter. We actually rely on our young guys to win- Colby, George, FOS. Xerri and LDU really good. Larkeys game was horrible. Our style of play needs a lot of work. Hopefully that was a game where ww got dragged down to the Tigers level- but I’m not so sure

I’ll take 2 goals from a horrible performance every day of the week, though. Larkey really puts the effort in.
