Shai Bolton would be very stiff to not be in the team at this stage.
I upgraded him to my second team. Could fight it out with Elliot for the spot in the first team.

Ben Long is on the cusp. Danger unfortunately going to drop.

Rankine is the challenging one. Plays a mixed role. Do you accept less goals for more overall impact? Im inclined to put him on the wing but its tight

He barely had any impact in the last quarter when game was on the line to be won or lost.
Had 3 touches and a meltdown 50m penalty, should have been two 50m as well for jumping late hit

After he got beaten to the ball as well when he threw a tanty.

But I’m sure those 25 disposals for the first three quarters running loose were huge into get the wi…..oh 😳

Lol

If he was at Geelong he'd be your best player, and your best mid by a long shot. Nice melt.

What does Daicos getting tagged out of an important game have anything to do with what you just said?
It’s the truth, in that 4th quarter he had 3 disposals and gave away a 50 (should have been 2) being tagged by a kid who didn’t even pick up an AFL ball or even know what Aussie Rules is 4 years ago.
Nick is still a gun.
Gun players can get tagged out of games, it happens.

He can’t be too upset, Mullin just tagged Butters out of a game as well to basically zero impact and he did the same to JHF last year.
Doesn’t make Nick look any less of a player, nor does it mean he wouldn’t be a star wherever he played.
Sometimes they get beaten…., don’t see how that’s remotely a “melt” pointing out a statistical fact?

Tim English having an underrated year similar to his 2023 numbers and is averaging 7.2 score involvements this year which is second only to Gawn and both are along way ahead of any other contenders.

Kysiah Pickett is a top 5 player within the next 2 years, he has developed another level in his game.

Miers deserves a squad or team recognition, is such an artist with the ball and is so important for Geelong he is the architect of our inside 50's.

LOL!

This is BEFORE the 10 more votes he got today. Highest rated player on the ground by a mile.

You can defensive about Xerri and his standing as a ruckman, but your post has no relevance to the one you answered.

English is actually WAY ahead of Tristan in score involvements (currently 7.1 (Tim) v 5.4 (Tristan))

This does not mean that Tim is a better ruckman, but he is showing some genuine form around his strengths.

Does EVERY post that doesn’t agree with someone have to be labelled a meltdown?

(Yes yes I realise that will be responded to with ‘nice melt’)

Surely there can be a marginally more intelligent way of addressing someone’s commentary

And apparently pointing out a star mids last quarter statistics in a game is "melting"
It's easier to just attack the person sharing statistical data than actually addressing anything that was said.

Yes. This is Bigfooty

It was easy to misinterpret your original post.

English averages those numbers because the Dogs are a really high scoring team.

Score Involvements as a % of Teams Score Involvements:

Gawn - 35%
Marshall - 29.4%
Jackson - 28.8%
Xerri - 26.2%
English - 25.9%
De Kooning - 24.8%

Paints a slightly different picture, so, no, he’s not WAY ahead. It simply means English plays in a higher scoring team than Xerri.

I just meant in terms of score involvements Xerri has been very good and you are right probably deserves to be picked ahead of English. Just wanted to give English some recognition.

Nick Daicos has polarised BigFooty so much that nearly any criticism sparks a meltdown.

Funny how you're hyper-focused on me using the word "meltdown", yet completely ignore your fellow Geelong poster who first threw that word at Daicos... all because he gave away a single 50 metre penalty.

The same poster frothing over one poor quarter all season.

Truly elite analysis. Real cutting-edge critique. 🙄

Xerri and English have both been great this year, but let’s be honest - Gawn remains the number 1 ruck in the competition, and is on track for yet another AA. Maybe the other two battle it out for a second ruck spot but Gawns the clear best

You weren’t just sharing stats, mate.

Your pretending to have neutrality but your earlier post wasn't neutral at all. It had emotive framing.

You framed Daicos’s fourth quarter as a “meltdown,” called his reaction a “tanty,” and acted like being tagged by a player with limited footy background was some kind of humiliation.

That’s not analysis, that’s bait.

He wasn’t frothing over one poor quarter. He was pointing out a single game where Daicos had relatively little impact.

He didn’t do the patented BigFooty ‘this single game disproves everything this player’s career has ever shown us about them.’

He didn’t do the ‘everything this player’s career has done is null and void because he once dropped a mark.’

He spoke about a game where a cats tagger did a pretty good job on Nick Daicos and negated his influence, especially in the last quarter when the game was up for grabs.

I don’t NEED to focus on ‘my fellow Geelong poster’ for using the word. He was making a pretty normal observation about one of the better players of the current era having a quiet match a few weeks ago. Which was raised by a Carlton fan, by the way.

Wow, this is a nice lawlerly reply from you. It's interesting how often you think “normal observation” looks a lot like sarcasm and bait, but only when it’s from a Geelong poster.

FootyLad0 said Daicos had a “meltdown,” a “tanty,” got beat by a “kid who didn’t know what footy was,” then threw in a smug punchline.

That’s not just data, that’s a bay 13 editorial. But it's from a Geelong supporter, so it's all good I guess.

You can keep trying to reframe it as mature critique, but your post seems like white-knighting from here.

I don't think Gawn is clearly ahead of Xerri at all. If anything they're neck and neck and would both be in an AA team picked right now.
