Don’t think he’ll be medically retired seeing as he’s not being forced to face the concussion panel yetYeah hard to see him not being medically retired now. Such a shame, hope we can offer some sort of career to him from here.

He’s got the Jarrod grant buildI’ve said it before, but - he should do a thilthorpe and go away for a season to get jacked and get no more concussions. Won’t, but should…
Spindles...He’s got the Jarrod grant build
For the sake of his wellbeing he should not be playing footy. Sad, but man it negligent for him to keep going from here you’d think
Concussion symptoms make the above impossible. His issue will be headaches/dizziness during high intensity workouts mostly. Its always been the long term problem too. You are fine until pressure on your body hits and then you fall into a hap somewhatI’ve said it before, but - he should do a thilthorpe and go away for a season to get jacked and get no more concussions. He literally only got the symptoms returned when he played his second game. I don’t think training at intensity has been an issue for himConcussion symptoms make the above impossible. Brad Sheppherd for example only works 4 hours a day because his body cant handle any more then that and his job was as a Salesman so not like it was a physical job either.
Right now id expect Cox to be doing nothing at all physical apart from very light training. He will likely come back very unprepared for AFL football and would be a rebuild from here somewhat. AFL somewhat have different rules with concussion since the Daniel Venables case. If accepted by the AFL you are allowed to keep Nik Cox as a player not he main list. He stays with the team as an inactive player for 12 months for example as he continues his rehab. Its a chance you would simply make him a inactive player for 2026, have him use the club facilities and then prepare for 2027 as a example
If he’s being set off by literally nothing you’d think it’s a matter of time.Don’t think he’ll be medically retired seeing as he’s not being forced to face the concussion panel yet

Normally I'm a proponent for whatever the player wants to do allow them to make their choices.
I certainly hope he chooses to step away.
He was already criticised for the way his last concussion occured at AFL level.
Go and live your life mate. The benefactors at the club will see him land in a good spot hopefully.
Similar with Jake Stringer, got concussed in our last game of the year a season or two ago, basically missed the entire pre-season with ongoing symptoms. We didn't find out about it until the middle of the following season when he returned to play so it didn't help his reputation much.Concussion symptoms make the above impossible. Been a issue for a while in the AFL. They dont practice to match conditions post pre-season and its becoming a giant issue for everyone whereby players go back into a game and end up only then re experiencing the symptons. Same thing happened to Luke Edwards at EaglesHe literally only got the symptoms returned when he played his second game. I don’t think training at intensity has been an issue for him
Afl usually do match sim / scenario training once a week during season depending on breaks between gamesBeen a issue for a while in the AFL. Gotta remember concussion in itself is your brain activity, not just your legs also. Practicing to match conditions is more or less about moving from side to side plus making decisions within that movement plus getting knocked to the ground which rattles the brain. Running a lap around a oval isnt achieving that
