if Mills is in I think he’s got to sub or be subbed. I mean the guy hasn’t played a full game of footy all year and any level, we tried this last year and he was a liability.

If Sheldrick gets subbed or misses out that’s his papers signed, he couldn’t do much more than last week with his tog.

Of all weeks these two (this week and next) are not the ones to be making statements. I can’t stand LLoyd being in but we will need him with JMac out. No to Bice being sub let him learn on the MCG and we do not need both McLean/Buller we barely need one.
Melbourne played with 5 talls last week

Our talls remaining are Hamling McCartin Ladhams

We only have 3 talls to go up against their 5 so unless you want Rampe to go play on a tall or just have no match for Lever and May when we bomb it in long go ahead, because Melbourne have Jake Lever returning to make them even taller

In all seriousness, drink responsibly folks.

My favourite beverage is actually grapefruit juice anyway. All the bitterness of beer but without any of the health risks. (Well, except for one of my good mates who is violently allergic to grapefruits.)
In all seriousness for a minute, if anyone's on any heart medications, you really have to check whether it's safe to eat/drink grapefruit. You'd think all citrus is the same, but grapefruit has some properties that can interact weirdly with heart medications.

Here ends this public health announcement from SBD Gonzalez.

You do know we can go small and kick it to the advantage of players rather than kicking it to their defenders right? Novel concept I know but how about we give it a try. A useless tall is still useless. Play one sure but not two just no. Heeney plays more forward this week solves that issue with Adams in

So you want to go 2-3 talls shorter than Melbourne this week in a team thats been instructed to kick long. Especially going small into a forward 50 against some of the best intercepters in the game in May and Lever

I'd be going one smaller than Melbourne, and again why are we kicking it to their interceptors, here is an idea stop kicking it long and hoping for the best. Forwards lead at the ball, 25-30m spot passes to the leading forward. A terrible option at forward isn't better than a smaller option who may contribute. Lets be real Buller will be lucky to touch the ball, and McClean at best is good for 5-7 disposals and a goal (maybe) with the latter in horrendous form, he may play but we don't need both!

I have never said go 3 talls shorter, but I sure am not worrying about their key defenders, you lead at the ball, you stop kicking it to the big bald bloke and their Lever/May types, spot the targets in good areas.

We certainly DO NOT need to sub Bice for a tall that won't touch the ball!

Melbourne likely go in with 5 talls and one of Fritsch/Melksham probably need to get minded by Rampe.

Turner or Johnson probably get dropped, Lever returns, McDonald plays forward more.

Down back for us - Tmac on Petty, Hamling on Johnson/Turner, Rampe on Fritsch/Melksham. If McDonald plays forward making it 3 talls and Fritsch/Melksham then I'd stay with Rampe on one of the latter and whoever out of Johnson/Turner probably gets loose checking by Blakey.

Up forward for us, I'd sit Mills on Lever or May, leaving at most 1 of those guys and maybe McDonald to mind Buller/McLean and Ladhams.

Don't think we need 3 KPFs. At worst our 3 KPDs could need to combat 3 talls and a medium target, but we're not likely to bring in an extra KPD so Rampe can mind a medium anyway, so playing 6 talls is probably unnecessary.

There is also Mills who could take Johnson or Turner if we're desperate (wouldn't play him on Fritsch etc on his comeback).

Your basically saying you would go small and play Hanily and change up Sydney whole philosophy of forward entries just to try something different against May and Lever who anyway against smalls would probably just play loose and intercept the thing more as they would be less accountable.

I don't think Sydney should go in with a forward line of Ladhams Hayward and 5 smalls

If you have read I've said play Heeney more FWD, he plays tall when he does. We don't need more useless talls. If you can GUARANTEE one of these talls kicks 2+ I'm all ears, otherwise thanks but no thanks, go smaller with mediums and spot targets. Hayward can play deeper if need be, Chad plays a bit forward, Blakey might too.

So move our best midfielder out of his best position just because he can play taller than his height to attempt to nullify a tall defender whereas we can just play an extra tall and keep Heeney in the midfield
