No he wasn't , at least he could take a mark , something Sam found nearly impossible , also Nank would've rag dolled Boyd
Here we go again
I said as a pure ruck he was behind Naismith.

Boyd was backup ruck behind Roughead, we weren't going to make selection decisions based on a backup ruck who in hindsight played their best career game in the GF, but significantly because of his forward impact where Nank would not have been on him.

I won't go on about it as you know my thoughts on these subjects , so i'll disagree , now remember we are not always right

You said Darcy Cameron was a spud.
Spuds don't suddenly become good players because they move to another city. Sure, some players improve, some regress, but the underlying talent was always there with Cameron.

My view: the Swans didn't appreciate or value the emerging talent & made a list management blunder.
I am worried we might do it again, by prioritizing the over 30's currently on the list. Perhaps I'm wrong - but I don't know why it's a "weird revisionist take".

They are literally coaches employed to take note of such things especially any emerging talents or when choosing to take such player in a draft/trade.

Bud back in 2015 urged the coaches to draft Papley as he saw genuine talent now thats a player with extremely limited hours viewing and analyzing the player.

Adams as the sub makes most sense to me given the other ins, given we lost a defensive rotation in Francis I would be surprised if Ollie doesn't start actually.

If Adams is the sub straight to HF when he comes on?

I suppose it depends on the game situation, if we're subbing a tall off then definitely. Or could have a few stoppage attendances like Gus was doing when he came on as sub later in games. Adams is a good sub in that he's reasonably flexible in his role.

Be a bit of a wasted sub. Adams to mids, someone else plays forward or wing, flow on effects from there.

He'd be sub because he's considered next best, but if he's not playing midfield, he's behind Hanily.

He played the pressure HF role quite well last year imo, high tackle numbers, pretty good farming it out with the handball.
I just think the defensive side of the team looks a little thin without Ollie starting but maybe that's just me.

Warner and Heeney both had nearing 90% TOG last week rotating between mid and forward, be interesting to see if they can keep that up over a number of weeks. Ideally we wouldn't have to but our forward line is quite impotent looking particularly with Amartey gone again.

I'm ok with Adams sub, I just think it's a waste him playing mostly forward. I don't really rate him forward tbh, he does a few nice things occasionally though. His best impact last year was in spurts in midfield, either as sub or for a quarter here or there. Outside of his run with role on Neale, which was good overall.

If we're bringing a sub on to play forward, I'd rather Hanily was in the 23.

Not sure if its factual or not but Adams hates the HF role, prefers to be a permanent mid.

If Adams is in then I can't see Mills in the mids. Imo they ease him in via defence which should hopefully free up Blakey a bit more. Hope we see Blakey fwd if our fwd line has gone to shit, swap him & Hamling. Imo we should be using Blakey in the fwd line for short burts, especially when trailing in the 2nd half. He's a very unique match up.

The irony in that is it has taken Darcy Cameron reaching 30 yrs old to become a good player.
