We shouldn't be playing Hamling up forward. They'll have at least 2-3 KPFs for him and Tmac to deal with, while Rampe is on Fritsch or Melksham.

I want to see Mills in action at senior level up forward first, where the least damage can occur, before we move him elsewhere. Plus who better to take the Hamling role on an interceptor.
I'd like to see Mills play as a genuine third tall forward with an occasional visit to the mids. Get Hayward to play on Lever and Ladhams on May. Play McLean a kick behind the play like Gawn does, not as a forward.
The big issue is to move the ball away from May even if it means circling the 50. Get people in between so he can't zone off.
McCartin and Hamling as proper KPDs against Petty and Melksham.

Dees also have Turner and Johnson as tall forwards. Maybe only use 2 at a time (of them and Petty), but Rampe is the one for Fritsch or Melksham, so I wouldn't expect Tmac or Hamling to play on those guys.

Adams sub is Mills insurance. IMO.
Which isn't a bad move.
Given Adams is not necessarily seen as best 22 by the coaches, sub is actually a good way to come back. He can be fresh and make an outsized impact when he comes on.

Adams should be able to see 2-3 players in the starting team he can displace. I hope he is taking this mentality. An inform Adams will help our competitiveness and rotations.

Last year Mills rushed back to join a team that didn’t really need him.

This year every precaution has been taken when we really needed him.

I think we are going to see the difference tomorrow and for the rest of the season.

My guess: he plays mids and ****ing dominates. Comes off halfway through the third quarter after Demons are already destroyed.

Yep my guess is they hope to sub Mills for adams, feel like every time we make that sort of plan someone gets injured though 😂

At his best Mills is one of the best mids in the comp. Think people have forgotten
I haven't. He's great down back too.

My objections to his selection and wanting him to play forward first are purely because of our past history with rushing players back and playing them underdone, in positions that then hurt us. We should set and hold some standards, but for all the noise made in the past about this sort of thing, it seems like people didn't actually care about rushing players back or playing them without being sure they're good to go.

Maybe he'll be fine, but it doesn't change all the times it hasn't been, including with him.
