So May is the most hyped player, along with Harding, yet there’s an assumption he’s going to Collingwood at pick 8.

Just a note we could easily have had Ned Long, but we took Geordie Payne….
I’ll be amazed if Payne even has the career Long has had so far, let alone a sustained career.

The other absolute pearler is we thought Phoenix Spicer looked more like a future AFL player than Beau McCreery, who was his teammate.

Stop picking blokes with some sort of ****ing caveat attached to them. If they can play pick them. If they are “in the right system, could possibly turn into” type, we ain’t the club for them. We need blokes that WANT TO and CAN physically play

I saw him play a couple of weeks ago.
Didn't impress.
Jack Mayo from same team looks better.
Another KPF.

Teakle was one of the best WAFL players when we drafted him.

I’m actually surprised Mayo isn’t talked about as a potential pick. Bloke looks like he is chiseled from granite (195cm and 97kg) and can obviously play.

Clubs tend to not give previously delisted talls another crack though and he seems to play his best footy as an undersized ruck.

Very much hope we bring in 2 picks. Even if it means tough decisions at year end, we need as many rolls of the dice as possible.

Assuming Banch is one of the picks, ready made to compete as a pressuring and linking small forward. The other pick interests me -

Is it more valuable to pick up a half back distributor type to ‘replace’ Daniel or a tall defender to compete with Corr.

On face value, Archer and Goater in my eyes replace Corr and McDonald in the side once fit. Logue has time to build his body back and get good again, K Dawson has been pretty puss and we have Whitlock, is Pink locked in the side? Maybe we have the options there already.

I don’t necessarily trust Ford to replace Daniel, albeit he’s been puss. Ford has been relatively composed at the lower level but I worry about some things he did to get out of trouble, if he’d have that much time to do so in the 1s. I still would be happy to get Donovan Toohey in from Coburg as a distributor (assuming McCarthy is off the board), he’s as reliable a kick as there is in the VFL and could compete with Daniel right away. Duursma is a wildcard but I can’t fathom us playing a defence with Duursma AND FOS in it in the future, so depth will be needed.

I think I’ve settled on Toohey and Banch as my preference.

Key forwards don’t really move me when we have 2 projects and 2 guys who have probably performed better / have more tickers at VFL level already than those presenting as options.

I think going with a smaller half forward creative type and one defender (either tall or half back) would make a lot of sense. You are far more likely to hit with one of those types rather than a developing KP (hence why I think teams have cooled on Burmeister).

I’d be happy with Toohey or McCartin with our 2nd pick.

FFS the media already have him going to Collingwood because he barracked for them……..don’t 16-17 other clubs have to just step aside ? HTF is that even a graphic they could put up. With all the other Collingwood talls.
