Walsh is still a good player but has not reached what he looked like becoming early in his career
if traded today would get a late 1st rounder but thats because late 1st are not that great this year in a compromised draft
He is a gree agent next year so Carlton could cash in then and start a rebuild of sorts.
But a team with MacKay , Cripps , Walsh , Wietering , Curnow , Cerra , Hewitt , TDK looks like has been wasted
 
To answer the OP's question... Yes on current trajectory I think it is hard to argue against Sam Walsh's brilliance. He is so impactful and really leading Carlton to glory

Even cooked Walsh would walk into just about any team in the league in some role.
he wouldn't have got a run in the half baked side we put on the park on Saturday.
