Give high paying jobs for those close to the player in any of Costa's companies........If the cats are willing to risk it all to give a car to an aflw player ( for a programs as an industry whole that loses money ) , what are they willing to do for the afl team

See that's the part that has fans of every other club saying hey that sounds sus, because absolutely no one is leaving a million dollars on the table unless they know they can recoup it in some other fashion.More to than likely other teams are into it aswell,
But other teams also don’t roll out the “ our players play for less for the good of the club “ tripe year in year out
The $200K was over 4 years so the $50K was "stupidly" within our salary cap and as if we were going to trade him for a 2nd rounder and not get caught lol. It was a gentlemen's agreement which clubs make with managers and never follow through anyway but we had it in an email.Evidence A - Crows/Tippett:
'The charges stemmed from the contract that Tippett signed with Adelaide in 2009, which made him the Crows' highest-paid player.
Adelaide allegedly agreed to trade him to a club of his choice for a second-round draft pick - a massively lopsided arrangement - when the contract finished at the end of 2012.
The Crows allegedly made a further payment of up to $200,000 to Tippett outside the salary cap.'
Evidence B - Geelong third party deals:
“We’re not saying that there was any cheating, that there was any attempt to cheat the salary cap,” Wilson said.
"The AFL have told Geelong and other clubs, this is that there’s been a loosening of management issues at many clubs, and a warning will be given to all clubs with a crackdown on third party payments."
One of these things is not like the other....
Sheer corruption worse then asada. Tainted culture.
If afl did some digging they could likely find Geelong being funded by evil entities. Wouldn't be surprised if it's middle east
Culturally they are Al Nassr. What a disgrace the Manchester City cats are. Or Al nassr cats
other clubs have been fined for similar breaches, AFAIK Brisbane, Hawks and Dogs. The whole thing is a nothingburger but the pitchfork brigades hear their goddess Caro speak and can't help but believe every sloppy word out of her mouthIf Geelong get fined, then there's a dozen other clubs who should be fined too. Do you think Geelong is the only club that have these "cultural" and "advisory" third party payments. There's less than a handful of clubs that are completely clean when it comes to this stuff.

We win over all these prospective men's players by showing them the fancy new Fords our AFLW players are driving. You mean to tell me, the club that has time and time again courted players with a long standing suspicion that it there were under the table deals turns out to have actually HAD discrepancies in their payments and it's all just a coincidence and all they get is a fine?
Absolutely protected by the AFL. Disgusting.
Adelaide lost two years of first and second round draft picks for this exact same withing with Tippet. Let's see if the AFL treat Geelong as the same.

Of coarse has nothing to do with the ongoing benefit of the whistle and sweeping under the carpet of scandals ( ‘ nose beers ‘ public reference the latest example )We win over all these prospective men's players by showing them the fancy new Fords our AFLW players are driving.
Much like a man, you can tell a lot about a club by how it treats its women.
Wow that's more than I thought a car to an AFLW player imagine what they are gifting to the men..... Either way we will never know the AFL will sweep it under the carpet....So for future reference all jokes pertaining to 'Cotton On' or 'free farms' will be fact checked by yours truly. In the spirit of keeping BigFooty.com factually correct all jokes must now be limited to 'a car to a senior AFLW player that wasn’t lodged'.
Thank you Carowhine for getting to the bottom of this and clearing our impeccable name!
Well to be fair, we volunteered this as a punishment to make sure the board kept their positions. The board fought tooth and nail to keep Steven Trigg but had to accept he would face a 6 month ban.Adelaide lost two years of first and second round draft picks for this exact same withing with Tippet. Let's see if the AFL treat Geelong as the same.
So Scotty's five extracurricular jobs seem to have been given the all clear. That should help us keep him from being poached by Tassie. Great Scott!
I don't think Geelong have ever said words to that effect. Some media figures do, of course - but I wouldn't advise living your life by the opinions of football journalists.More to than likely other teams are into it aswell,
But other teams also don’t roll out the “ our players play for less for the good of the club “ tripe year in year out
What are you doing? You're a Hawthorn supporter sticking up for Geelong? This wont go down well with your peopleI also think Laura Kane is picking on Geelong purely because their the one's that can bare the scandal more than any other club.
St Kilda is still doing it now in 2025, can you imagine his hard it would hit them if they got caught again? Melbourne, Sydney and Carlton last year would've turned up similar results if they did an audit on them.
This is just a huge problem for the AFL, created and mishandled by the administration, and it's really all their fault.
It's disgusting that a club sponsored by Ford for 100 years gives it's players free cars.Haha a car and an AFLW player.
Other clubs have been fined for the same thing.
Good work pitch fork brigade.
Fords should be free anywayIt's disgusting that a club sponsored by Ford for 100 years gives it's players free cars.
