No that's Newton, McCarthy was rested last week in the VFL since we gave the indication we were going to take him pick 1 in the MSD

He needs to learn the system and what the coaches expect. A week or 2 of training and playing WAFL will equip him to add value to the side.

Same age, similar size and playing style as well as being a bit of a late bloomer at VFL level before being drafted

Five disposals and a goal in a 81 point loss was enough to get promoted for his AFL debut against Adelaide the following week. (Lost that game by 122 points)
