We've selected 11 players with under 50 games and people still wanting more kids to be played.
For those who want Juddy Clarke has played 3.5 games in his return from a 12 month lay off for an ACL I'd suggest that he won't see senior footy until after the bye, which would mean that he's had a solid 5 weeks of playing full games meaning he'd be fully match fit and proven that he is ready to go.
Blight would need to replace either Gray or Miller to get a gig. If he replaced Miller our KPDs would have a total 10 games of experience to their names heading into the game, while I get the urge to reward the younger guys, neither Miller or Gray have done anything to warrant them being omitted for Blight to play and having him play ahead of Trainor alongside Gray and Miller makes us too top heavy IMO.
In terms of that actual changes, we lost Dow & Lalor who are part of the midfield mix, so we replace them with 2 players capable of going through the midfield themselves. We also regain our number 1 ruck and KPF who are both integral to the way we structure up both in the middle and up forward, with Nankervis replacing Ryan and Lynch taking Riolis spot to to maintain the 3 talls up forward that Yze wants to use, which then allows Trainor to return to the D50.
Lets not forget that we've had 7 debuts so far this year, plus 9 more players taken since the 2021 draft getting opportunities at senior level as we approach the half way point of the season. In the 2nd half of the season we will no doubt see more debuts and under 50 gamers getting more chances as they get back to full fitness. Remember it's not a sprint when it comes to the development of our young players and patience is the key.
