I think Briggs actually suits them better. They have a good midfield ad he can feed them. Not sure they need Marshall. Geelong looks the obvious choice for Marshall but we'd probably have to pay his wage for them unless they are going to be allowed to pay with Cotton On vouchers a bit longer.
His body language looked like he was none the wiser to be honest

And the very last question was wanting an update on Nas and he gave that answer.
Which is telling as his point was about nas being gettable was an opinion of those Journos and not a fact

Interesting that Ross brought up needing to re-sign Nasiah. That's definitely lifted the confidence that he will sign on.

If someone said to me would I trade marshall for TDK and late first rounder/ early 2nd, I would absolutely jump at it.
It's a net postive x 2, better ruckman, younger and then have the chance of drafting another good kid.
In regards to the contact, I have been told nearly 400k is outside of the salary cap and is a ASA

I’m in this camp. TDK means we can move Marshall and address another weakness. Be that another midfield talent, a key forward or a small at the draft. Makes sense if we chips in on the future

So pay up big time because of age.
Marshall could play another 4 years and is in a position of greater need. And not just for us. Cats would pay well for him, if we even decide to trade him.
Bergman, a “maybe” mid, hbf who’s not going to move the needle that much for a FRDP?
Not for me thanks.

Have you seen the criticism of him on all the social media? And all the “expert” journos?
Pretty sure he doesn’t give a stuff and will keep on being the squeaky wheel until things are fixed.

Not sure on Saints NGA’s but I know this for Cats.
If Jesse Mellor goes Round 1 as NGA then Cats have no incentive to keep it.
Here’s something I came up with, not that it will happen so please don’t shoot me Saints fans.
Cats give this year’s 1st for Marshall to Saints, Saints give Cats 1st to Port for Bergman, Saints get Picks for NAS from Crows, Saints send 1st to Carlton for TDK. Saints keep Crows 1st and future 2nd send own first for TDK.
Saints walk away with: TDK, Bergman and keep Crows 1st and Future 2nd Rounder from NAS deal
Cats walk away with: Marshall
Crows walk away with: NAS
Port walk away with: Cats 1st
Carlton walk away with: Saints 1st

I’m assuming Carlton will try to match and won’t be happy with compo as they’ll go on their late season piss easy run that will push them towards Finals.
Obviously if they don’t match it won’t matter and can be left out of the conversation.
This is a new era, teams won’t accept compo if they think they can get better.

Thats why we are offering him $1.7mil because Carlton cant match that amount.
Anyway, I doubt anyone would be happy for a late teens pick (which will drift out to mid 20s after all the bids) for a contracted Marshall. He's worth more than that

That's one way to look at it. Another would be to say that he hasn't been signed behind closed doors. As in he didn't exactly say were confident he'll sign soon.
How do cats fans reconcile their salary cap? Marshall wouldn't be cheap, how do you think you would fit him into that team?
Could play out this way but TDK is a FA and Carlton will get band 1 because of salary offered.
Would use Marshall for Bergman via a frdp.
Would prefer to keep NAZ but if trading would rather a player and a 1st.

We have a bunch of retirements coming up and guys on rookie deals.
Couple guys signed up on long term deals. On decent coin but nothing crazy eg Holmes and Stengle
That’s why Cats name keeps getting throw in for Reid, Butters, Rowell etc. by reliable journos.
ITK on our board have said it too, one is adamant Reid is coming.
Haven’t heard much on Marshall but I know interest has been there in the past.
