Bond 72% disposal efficiency. 12 disposals a game. 2 rebound 50s. 0 inside 50s. 3 marks. 185cm.

Edwards 90% disposal efficiency. 21 disposals a game. 4 rebound 50s. 3 inside 50s. 7 marks. 191cm.
Don’t worry about form, Nicks doesn’t

I think its a prerequisite to be a campaigner if you are to become an umpire.
Not all, but they have a very high proportion of look at me types who think the game is about them.

I couldn't tell you anything about Edwards because I don't watch SANFL, but there was nothing about Bonds performances in the AFL last year that screamed future best 22 player.

Poor mans Luke Brown maybe at best.

Taylor was mainly wing last week

Wouldn’t be opposed to Draper replacing him on the wing and Tex replaces pedlar who goes sub

Pretty much. From what it's looked like to me is Taylor has been a half forward/wing (honestly, our half forwards/wings are interchangable with how we set up) over the last 5 weeks, which looks like the perfect role to just give to Draper and leave him for a half season.

You're not getting much, if anything out of the role, so may as well use a kid.

Poor mans Luke Brown screams a future best 22 player on a team with Michaelanny. After all, if we're serious about giving Max the room to become an elite defender, eventually he has to move away from defending the opposition's best small forward.

Our wingman play to defensive, I don’t want Draper to have that pumped into his head

That's what a winger is in this era of football. More to the point, if Draper is who we think he is, he'll benefit from that. After all, we'd expect the same of him if he played as an inside midfielder.

The prospects who stumble, stumble because their game wasn't good enough for the role they got.

Too much emphasis put on defence

No, that's pure nonsense.

Soligo does not struggle on a wing. Curtin hasn't struggled on the wing. What you think is "too much defense" is just flawed prospects getting found out.

On a positive note, talk of Edwards selection/non-selection is ramping up and Nicks has had to state his position on the matter at least 3 weeks running now.

Weve been here before folks. Matty usually makes an arse out of himself and capitulates around this point ,and whaddayouknow,a new player is born.

Southerntakeover I know you were interested in this a couple of weeks ago. My phone couldn’t find your post, so I’m dropping it in here. Just came on TV, so took a photo. Worth considering that this is the targets for our last 5 games, not sure if it includes Tex’s rest week, but it definitely includes a period where Tex’s body was making it harder and harder to beat his opponent.

Fogarty missed a game there, but he's still targeted far too few times.

You'd suspect pretty confidently he has the highest goal per target efficiency of any of the top goal kickers, and he's still sitting sixth in the coleman.

My concern is that Tex is still running the forward line and directing movements so that he can be the main target. And this is a guy who's body was clearly deteriorating and was being run off more and more and more. Tex should be the least targeted amongst our '3 headed monster'.

They're two sides of the same coin

Unfortunately it’s trained into them. Some very good umpires move across from pathway footy to umpiring around 15 or 16. Know their stuff. Just umpire.

But those boys and girls get dragged into umpiring pathway and a big part of the coaching is about the acting. If they don’t get the acting they get spat out.

Fog has always been overly conscious of Tex and where he's running. You still see it live to this day. Incomming play, his first instinct is to look to Tex, and then baulk if Tex is heading towards the natural hole, even if hes in a better position. Shouldnt be this way but thats just the way we role in general.Thilthorpe nowhere near as much thank God.

Hes got better as hes matured, but its still there.

Not all teams player their wingers defensively though.
Adam Simpson picked up on it for us and said we are the most predictable defending a small lead because of it.
