I think they have all the pieces except maybe a KPF. Gunston has wound back the clock a little, but I dont think he can keep it up. Chol can be mercurial but is inconsistent. Harry Morrison is their third. I think without Barrass they'd be in even more trouble with Sicily out of form. Could Tommy have thrown out their structure? They can't rely that much on Day, Meek, Newcombe etc. I think as their low tackles show its mostly a matter of effort a lot of the time.

Tough in contrast I feel more confident about Brisbane. They've mostly just been lazy, but when they get going they look a lot better than Hawthorn as last round showed.

Collingwood look the most solid/consistent. Teams will need to try something new against them, but they're so well drilled.

Yeah that sort of proves my point though. Their best players this season have been Gunston, Barrass, even Hardwick to a degree, and then Amon and Impey who are keys to their ball movement are also the wrong side of 28.

They have half arsed it and are sort of in “win now” mode without the star power to push them to the very top

Except that's part of the problem, we have shelved all that stuff this year and the players look like everything is a chore instead of trying to bring some fun and energy. The real issue though is the mind numbingly stupid decisions to have McGuiness as Sub when Daicos has 32 and 2 and Hardwick playing forward when the guy he has owned for years ( Elliott) tears us to shreds. So many own goals with selection and how we are setting up it's laughable. Not to mention we keep playing Sicily who is clearly injured it's beyond a joke we don't pull the trigger and give him a rest. Mitchell deserves scrutiny because he's trying to be way too clever with the team and we are suffering because of it. Play the players in their best positions it's pretty simple. It's like Fly playing Quaynor at half forward. You don't do it.
