It's amazing that he used AFL time and funds to have an affair with a staff member and ends up demoted to a 700k a year job.that Lethlean was with us AT ALL was yet again totally due to boys club ineptness of the AFL. I know let’s just dump him at the Saints.![]()
I find when we aren't doing well it becomes a chore to go. Not just for our games but the neutral ones as well. It's been a long time since we were a consistent exciting side. It takes it out of you when hope starts to erode. When we finished well last year my son started getting excited at the start of the season. We left the game last week with him saying he's not going to another game this year. He was too young to remember 2009 or 2010 when we last had some momentum.
It's a charter plane between both clubs. I think it's the only way it's doable. Was Ross's comment about sharing a plane with Melbourne in his presser yesterday also a subtle backhander at the AFL? Is the club not happy about the travel arrangements?

It's not an attack on GCS. It's an attack on the AFL.What you've got here is a poor man (st K), kicking the air out of another poor man (suns) for having a relatively small win (a couple of lucky years with a few good academy picks - yet still have not played finals - remember the bad news bears entered the comp in 1987 and it "only" took them 10 years to come good).
If you want to get angry and kick the cr*p out of someone, try Collingwood (father son rort), Geelong (father son rort).
Every Saints fan knows and acknowledges we've made mistakes. Not putting that disclaimer before every comment doesnt mean we dont know that. What you've got here is a poor man (st K), kicking the air out of another poor man (suns) for having a relatively small win (a couple of lucky years with a few good academy picks - yet still have not played finals - remember the bad news bears entered the comp in 1987 and it "only" took them 10 years to come good).

the real rort is the father son system, not the northern academies who are trying to grow the friggin game in enemy territory and, to be fair, doing a pretty darn good job of it.
So many here choosing to overlook the historical drafting and trading sins of the saints too. Some acknowledge it, but many are too one-eyed and blinkered.

Why not go at the Lions - who as recently as last year not only rorted father-son but academies as well? Got a father-son last year for well below cost price as well as a "local" product who's been boarding in Melbourne for three years and played U/18's in our backyard. Ok, so we can go after the team that’s drafted three first-round father son picks in the last few years then? What you've got here is a poor man (st K), kicking the air out of another poor man (suns) for having a relatively small win (a couple of lucky years with a few good academy picks - yet still have not played finals - remember the bad news bears entered the comp in 1987 and it "only" took them 10 years to come good).

You look at say Collingwood and go " why can't we be like that"
A big part of the reason is that we are not guaranteed copious amounts of income and 17 to 18 matches at home.I find when we aren't doing well it becomes a chore to go. Not just for our games but the neutral ones as well.

But they are doing a really good job of it. Like their confessions when Fitzroy was sent up there that led to three premierships in a row. Wow, what an achievement.Ok, so we can go after the team that’s drafted three first-round father son picks in the last few years then?
Seaford which put us in massive debt for a failed move.
Keeping a head recruiter who was so obviously unqualified despite zero results from National Drafts for a years.
Failed to invest in the football department despite having money to spend on woke appointments.
Employing Lethlean to review the list with no experience then handing him the football department and list build strategy that jhas now left us with massive holes through the player group who should now be lifting the side on the back.
Extending Ratts then sacking him and promising more than we can deliver (again).
Ignoring strategy when building a list and going for quick fixes.
You could write an essay on how not to do a list build and run a successful sporting team by looking at our periods between Ross Lyon and Ross Lyon II.
Too early to make that call. Key forwards take longer to mature.Look you may be just visiting this place, but I’ve been here for many years.
And I am confident that at some stage someone on this forum will finally twig to the folly of taking McCartin over Petracca.
Just be patient northern visitor.
It’s not that hard to get your head around really. Some folk are just plonkers. It's not an attack on GCS. It's an attack on the AFL.
Our president just wants clubs to pay fair whack for F/S and academy.

Go look at the Brisbane plonker on the main board. It’s not that hard to get your head around really. Some folk are just plonkers.
Coming from a Brisbane supporter.![]()
So the system you have benefited the most from? Trying to grow the game is a cop out. You can grow the game by the academy’s but that doesn’t mean just the northern states should have access to them. How is it fair the brisbane are probably gonna get a top three pick via their academyWhat you've got here is a poor man (st K), kicking the air out of another poor man (suns) for having a relatively small win (a couple of lucky years with a few good academy picks - yet still have not played finals - remember the bad news bears entered the comp in 1987 and it "only" took them 10 years to come good).

I agree we rorted father son (because, as I said, fs is a rort). . . but not the academy. Leave the academies alone, we're in a market where we need to develop locals, or else we get ripped clean by rich Victorian privileged clubsWhy not go at the Lions - who as recently as last year not only rorted father-son but academies as well? Got a father-son last year for well below cost price as well as a "local" product who's been boarding in Melbourne for three years and played U/18's in our backyard. that was FS . . .not a northern club rort. That rort is open to all clubs ( . . . .bar GC and GWS). Not our fault your past players are a bit . . . . .what would you call it . . . .limp? So says a northern club supporter.
We have all acknowledged our sins of the past. But Blind Freddy and his dog can see the absolute advantage the northern clubs have got in the past decade or more. The payments out of the salary cap to Ben King and others etc etc and bloody etc.
#1 pick For basically nothing after winning the flag - oh please….
yeah . . . . that was absolutely all Fitzroy that three peatBut they are doing a really good job of it. Like their confessions when Fitzroy was sent up there that led to three premierships in a row. Wow, what an achievement.
No you have rorted the system like the other northern clubs, the NGA is the biggest rort of all.I agree we rorted father son (because, as I said, fs is a rort). . . but not the academy. Leave the academies alone, we're in a market where we need to develop locals, or else we get ripped clean by rich Victorian privileged clubs
Dude the Academies ARE the isssue. F/S at the very least is designed as a traditional thing that doesnt pop up that often. The northern academies are already putting out multiple top ten draftees a year that directly benefit teams pushing for top 4 finishes.I agree we rorted father son (because, as I said, fs is a rort). . . but not the academy. Leave the academies alone, we're in a market where we need to develop locals, or else we get ripped clean by rich Victorian privileged clubs
1984 - Lions say no to move to Brisbane.
1986 - Lions say no to move to Brisbane.
1987 - League says to Lions GTFO to Brisbane as the Bears suck balls and need help to spawn as creditors say no bingo no license so Bears become Lions in drag then gut the Lions to literally pillage a corpse of a successful org on hard times.
FTR, I will always despise your mob for stating on the Gold Coast and then taking the Gabba from cricket to fund your nonsense. Even then, even when you get things like stadiums gifted to you, you are that shit at your job that you were still almost folding that you needed the VFL to call creditors so you could pillage an internal club on top of it to eveb matter.
Our soul might be shit.
At least we have one, keep your pissant F/S in QLD so you can ruin them like you ruin everything you touched as you don't deserve #VICBIAS to make your people dance as competent footballers.
NGA, really? . . . can't recall any of the northern clubs having anything to do with NGA. But if you say so . . .fine NGA is the biggest rort of all. Someone mentioned playing chess with a pigeon ha ha.No you have rorted the system like the other northern clubs, the NGA is the biggest rort of all.
We need to grow the game Bayside, therefore I demand we get first choice of every Sandrigham Dragons player from now on. Doesn't matter what dps we have, it might be pick 45, if Sandy Dragons kid are no.1 one to 5, we get them first cause wE hAvE tO gRoW tHe gAmE.
What apologist bollocks. Just keep your hand our parasite, like your plastic mates on the Gold Coast.
