Why would it end a career? You do love to play the morally outraged drama queen. For someone so boorish, you do get sensitive about a lot of things.
An acl has ended careers in the past. Again the hysteria from you. It's not moralistic, I just think anyone wishing a severe injury on a player to try to win a specious argument is a low life pos. Anyone defending it is in the same bucket. You lay down with dogs....
I always find it amusing when you are on the wrong side of an argument you try to start some personal flame war, in this case being the white knight coming in to defend something that had nothing to do with you.
Leave me out of your purile pissy fits, not interested if your ego has been pricked.

I was going through the list last night in my head, and this sounds like premium nuffie material, but as I considered the merits of each player individually, I begun wondering why we are doing so poorly. For example I want to bring Phillipou, Stocker and McRae into the team as well as Garcia, Hastie, Collard and Henry, but who out of the current team would you take out? I really liked the contributions of Carroll, Clark, and Butler, it seems that Jack Steele is turning a corner (still not a captain's bootlace mind you), Windy played a blinder, I want to keep persisting with TT and Boxy, as well as Max Hall, I think Byrnes is massively underrated even by Saints fans, and I'm struggling to understand how we have lost 6 in the last 8.

This is our team graded from A to D. You have a lot of good players still in development that should surge.

Max Hall, Collard, Keeler, Tauru, Travaglia, LOC and Boxshall are all rated as D graders. All have a genuine chance to jump up to at least B graders and some quite soon.

Caminiti is rated C+ as is Hunter Clark, Howard, Webster, Stocker, Byrnes, Dow and Windhager. All have potential to be either rated higher or move up. As a back I think Hammer is playing like a B grader right now. Clark off last week too.

In the Bs we have guys like Phillipou, Sharman, Owens and King. All A grade potential still. Higgins rated as a B but on this year's form he's A grade.

And compare it to other sides. We need to pack out that B grader column and push a few up at least one level.

This shows that we have done a lot of the bulk work and as long as we can maximise potential and keep the surgeons away we really should have a surge in the near future. I'm not one to tip my hat to anyone that works at our ridiculously unsuccessful club but they have done a great list repair job so far. The list is in it's best position since Lyon left last time.

When we started stacking the list with older imports last time we had the equivalent of Tauru, Travaglia and Wilson and a bunch of ordinary unrealised players like Gresham, Billings, Dunstan etc. This time we have a serious foundation in place to springboard off. As long as they don't do anything dumb, we should become quite a strong list. Just need to pump the development in now.

Counter point.

The forum is absolutely for that… keep going

Why are we do so poorly this year?

1. We have a lot of young players in our 23 this year. So effort and decision making has been up and down. Footy is such a team game now that even just several players being off can have a major negative effect.

2. We lack a gun modern mid. Macrae has been good...but we lack that mid with burst. Also our midfield depth has been cruelled by injuries. A fit and firing Hunter will help.

3. Too many injuries. Losing our biggest key forward and key defender amongst others is a major handicap. Midfield depth gone till now. Even say losing Henry with his outside pace has cruelled us.

Oh good we have more A graders than the Hawks.

Actually it is a pretty shithouse deal.

Love the logic, i'll duck into the Porsche dealer, tell them i like one, and tell them it chose me. When they tell me the price, i'll tell them how much i actually have and they'll be forced to come to the party.

There have been some pretty ordinary players go for more than that , and he is NOT a free agent, contract or no.

There are also parts of our game that used to be strengths, but have dropped right away. For instance last year we were equal first for scoring from D50, whereas this year we might have even dropped all the way to 18th.

Quite amazing when you consider the fact we have the no.1 and 2 ranked “general defenders” in the league, in Sincs and Nas.

So the weekend was a big step forward in that regard, as we scored heavily from D50. Getting back to what we used to do well.

Clubs (starting with GWS) also worked out that if you shut down Macrae, you pretty much shut down our then midfield, and when Macrae had a couple of quiet games, we got comfortably beaten.

Our best wins also came when we applied elite pressure, and that’s not an easy thing to do every week.

A number of our senior guys have also dropped right off (as of pre the weekend):

For someone who loves dishing out the abuse, you're certainly getting very worked up, on behalf of a soon-to-be multi millionaire footy player, who was the subject of a dark joke from an anonymous contributor somewhere on the internet

Something about "can give it but can't take it" springs to mind 😂

In the AFL, he with the most dollars wins the free agents

On BigFooty, it seems you believe he who takes the most offense wins.

So keep taking offense. Knock yourself out!

Wouldn’t it be perfectly normal for Nas to have dinner with his friends who live in Adelaide, whilst he visits Adelaide. No one could possibly know what they spoke about. Media never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
It would also be insane, and disgraceful, if anyone at the club expected him to not spend time with them.

Wouldn't bother me if he checked out their facilities while he's there

Of course they would have spoken about it, still doesn't mean a thing.

I think this is because none of our midfielders or wingers are particularly effective with the ball.

They have some good skills: In and under (Macrae and Steele), tagging (Windy), running (Wilson and Hill) but aren't very damaging by foot.

As good as Nas has been on half back, I'd like to see him (and Pou) thrown on the ball, or into the middle of the ground, regularly through the back half of the year. It could help fix this issue and balance out the midfield. Sinclair can stay at half back where he's at his best.

JHF pushing back from the table and producing legal papers and a pen...

The AFL is a tiny league in a fairly conservative community - in other words, a journalist's worst nightmare; it's harder to get content than it is for Hunter Clark to look like Zeus.
Underrated opening sentence..... :roflv1: :roflv1: :roflv1:
