Gameplan good, intent and desire to compete and win, to keep up with an experienced and talented side like Geelong was impressive.

Talent lacks like it will for the next 2-3 years.

Ok, tbh, not exactly a standout for mine. Then I saw on there a reel of Duggans 2018 highlights, and that was impressive! Weird, been following WC for years (decades) especially the finals years, but barely remember Duggan even from 2018?
Anyway, alas no more...

Yes those videos are just Duggan as he is now except in a team that is light years better in every disposal. Perhaps more agility but less strength but not overly different.

The space the guys found themselves in was amazing, there were a lot of players that knew where to be. Today with this team almost everything is a contest.

Talent is about reading the play and getting a hold of the ball, Skill is about what you do with it once you've got it.

Read somewhere we haven’t won a final quarter yet this year.

If so, your points above I see as being a significant contributing factor. Run hard to make a lead, run to receive, handball missed now got to run back. Clean up our skills and I think we’ll see much improved results.

And just on JWilliams v AReid discussion.

Watched a few moments when JWilliams couldn’t stay in the contest. Not sure whether it’s fitness, speed, or mental application. But if he is to be a forward long term then his forward line pressure needs to pick up.

Sure slots them better than AReid atm but he (they both do) needs to work on his all round game.

I suspect the debate will continue for some time.

Watched a few moments when JWilliams couldn’t stay in the contest. Not sure whether it’s fitness, speed, or mental application. But if he is to be a forward long term then his forward line pressure needs to pick up.

Watched him a fair bit off the play on the weekend and he looks slow. Like, really slow.

Could have something to do with his non selections, he’s moving like a cargo ship at the moment.

You've made four posts now talking about winning more games, but still retaining pick 1 being your best scenario. You only get pick 1 if you win a spoon.

Last post I promise. Again, never ever suggested best scenario. Suggested there was a scenario where we win games but not enough.

And if that happens we could do well etc etc.

Positives

• Cole was very good (got exceedingly lucky on one bad butcher that went not 15). Folks just hate him, was integral to nearly every successful rebound tonight.


Negatives

• Duggan quiet and panicked. The opposite of a captain’s game.

I am no Cole fan by any means, but I genuinely think it one of his best games for the club. He was very good and hit targets for a change.

I've been really disappointed with Duggan this season. I thought last year was probably his best and he's receded a lot this year. Not sure what's going on but he needs to rectify it quickly.

Precisely this, because you only have a limited amount of fuel tickets, and when you cough up the ball due to error causing a rebound you use extra tickets defending leaving little to save for your own attack

Looks like he’s fairly unfit. Probably let himself go a bit over the offseason hence falling out of favour. Hopefully gets himself in ripper shape this summer
