McQualter said it's a family commitment they knew of prior to the draft.

Could just be a wedding or something but 'family reasons' makes it sound far more sinister than it probably is.
#1 draft picks always get preferential treatment!

I heard he went to Tongala because he was missing Reid's family.

Didn't we beat North at this ground in the pre-season?
Yes, but obviously both teams have settled/progressed since then...
Roos last 5 games have been 9 point loss to Port (15th), 3 point loss to Dons (10th), a draw with Lions (2nd), a 4 point win over Tigers (16th), and last week a 45 point loss to Pies (1st).
So fair to say not the same team we played in scratchies!

Yeah I was just curious obviously the real deal stuff is going to be different, thanks. Also i'd say we aren't the same team as we were playing in that scratchy either.

Yes we beat North there during pre-season, but we had Grego on the bench intimidating the entire norf squad. If he doesn't get named then we might be in trouble.

Damn that sucks. Hopefully everything okay with TMac. McQualter mentioned in his press conference today they were aware of this happening and he’d be heading back to VIC

Interesting

I watched the presser and Mini didn't rule him out Sunday. Only mentioned he wasn't training today as he's on Victoria

Probably not ideal preparation for him even if he did fly back before Sunday

B. Williams was rested last week, not injured or ommitted.

I fully expect him to come back into the side and work in tandem with Flynn. Definitely the best approach for a ruck as combatative as Xerri.

Also hoping Bo stays in the side, I liked his run last week when he finally got on the ground. Let's just hope we get to see more than one quarter from him.

Bailey to replace Jack or Archer

Cripps to replace Ryan (or Long if Ryan is passed fit)

Allan to start in the 22, Dewar to be sub

No other changes

Just listened to the Schofield pod cast ( had Papalia on it so tuned in for him)
Gotta agree with Schofield's comment re the ruck dual with Xerri, Flynn just stick to him the whole time, get in his way and compete, don't try doing anything fancy, just BE a ruckman!

Anyone think we've got this? It's a sunny Sunday, 19 degrees, no rain, about 11 kmh winds.
If we can take it up to a top 5 side for a good part of the game, we should be able to put away the team above us?

We're playing a two win team in a bonus game in WA so I'd hope we see it as a winnable game.

First 5 games we were 0-5 50%. Brisbane at the Gabba was the only game we were in.
Last 7 we are 1-6 77%. Were in the game against Essendon, Richmond, Geelong and beat St Kilda.

The last 7 aren't anything to write home about but IMO 80% is a good metric for competitiveness and were are close to that mark.

Problem with teams like us, North and Richmond is the gap between best and worst. We play poorly and North play well and they will do us by 10 goals. And vice versa. Or in the case of last year's game at Optus both teams are poor and it's painful to watch.

Hopefully we can see Baz get his strut on. Love seeing the ranga out there with a head full of steam

Our last seven games vs North have been decided by 15 points or less with North holding a 4-3 advantage. The last 4 have been single digit margins with 3 of those being 5 points

Expect this to be another close game

Flynn is the worst ruck we’ve ever had. He will get pantsed by Xerri. I’ve been saying it for a while, but I’d drop him and bring Bailey in (that’s his bad our ruck stocks are at the moment), and I’d be starting Bailey as first ruck with Archer & JWill rotating through there to give Bailey a chop out.

Then I’d instruct our mids to stand directly in front of the opposition because that’s where Bailey will tap it. 😂

Care to speculate on which one McQualter will choose?

I heard Tom McCarthy had a pre-existing coffee appointment with Sam Mitchel. Take that for what it's worth...

For f*cks sake can we stop with these fabrications and lies? It's really not helping our players.

It was actually a pizza date.

some changes I would like to see

no more dump kicks from duggs

can we go a game without giving away a 50m penalty ?

the answer is probably no and no
We need to do a video of every one of his dump kicks for the year and the result and get Phil to show it to him…. You know seeing as he’s the in guy
