I'm not actually upset at losing to Adelaide away. They are turning into a very good side who should go deep in finals. They have matched up very well against us for a while now and look good this year.

And at the same time we had so many chances to win that. The ball use going inside 50 and at goal was terrible in the last quarter. So many panic kicks with no thought. Bailey, Neale and others dont miss like that 99 times in a 100. We can do so much better than that. We play the at home or neutral ground and we get a very different result.

But man I really do think we have such a history of poor goal kicking that you have to question if we train it enough.

I like the signs fron Gallop. He isn't quite ready but he looks like what we need to compete both forward and backup ruck

Bombing.

Long.

Doesn’t.

Work.

Hats off to them I suppose. Took their chances.

They hold at stoppage, knew they would. They really push the boundaries in that regard.

Letting long balls over the back led to multiple goals. Shouldn’t happen.

Genuine Coward of a goal umpire at the end to disallow Ah Chee snap.

Finishing. Well what can you say.

Cant recall the last time I've felt so embarrassed to support this club

No excuses

Be dramatic during a game...understandable. Disappointed after the game, yes. We all are.

..but to be embarrassed of your club when they only lost by 5pts and in pooey conditions, opposition on equal terms, someone had to lose...and we did, again just 5pts.

Yes we dropped off, maybe the travel and tired legs in those conditions contributed, who knows....but to be embarrassed of this team is poor form by you imo.

You need to go back and remember between 2005 - 2016. That was embarrassing.

Hilarious. This is one of those weeks where if you said the result at the start, after our effort vs Essendon and Adelaide vs the Swans everyone would be leaping over themselves to take it

But because of how it played out over the last three hours instead it's embarrassing, pathetic, shambles, etc etc etc.

We had every chance to get it through in the last but just because the commentators are shitting all over us that doesn't make it true - we were fighting a Lyons-esque flood so it's not like we were getting clean shots time and again.
We had enough clear shots. We only needed one.

Effort was there . Lots of positives. But just not composed enough on multiple occasions.

Zac was ineffective but he was at least getting the ball... Would you rather zero lessons, zero clangers or 21 possessions, eight clangers and six score involvements. Because as a board we love crapping on those that try and fail half the time over those who don't do anything.
I'd rather Bailey got subbed out at 3/4 time.

11 shots on goal for 0 goals in a massive game thats there to win?

That's brutally pissweak by a team that's coming off a premiership
That's footy, we were panicy and lacked composure, we will take some good learnings out of this game and move on.

Do you think our flag chances are gone after tonight's "embarrassment"?

Umm, did you watch Bailey's kicks at goal?
They were shockers, but he's usually one of our most reliable. We can throw our toys out of the cot or we can see it for what it was - a close loss, away, against a team that's actually really bloody good, after knocking over the likes of the Hawks and others in a similar situation.

We're definitely back in the pack this year but anyone thinking we were going to cake walk to the premiership is looking to the wrong club.

Panicked in the 4th. Few players lowered their colours and lost composure.

Overall, we have a problem going inside 50. Just not working atm. Missing Joe and missing the big sticks. Not sure what the answer is, but hope the brains trust is on it....

I didn't expect to be a top 4 team at the start of the year and still think we'll miss out on the top 4.

Cant expect everything to click like it did in the second half of the season last year and 2 arsey finals wins. Especially after how we handled the pressure tonight and in other recent losses/draws

I think Bailey panicked with that last shot with what had happened previous 2 shots. Think his head was frazzled to be kicking it where he kicked it.
If last year's finals campaign didn't make him mentally stronger than that, then I don't know what will.

Hopefully Day is back and helps out our structure.

How often did we have 3 forwards leading to the same spot in the last? That was Joe's spot to lead into last year

Incredibly frustrating last quarter for a neutral so can imagine how you would all feel.

However it was pretty evident who the better team was and I would be confident your team doesn’t forget where the goals are if it played out again.

Thought Adelaide threw everything at a wasteful Lions at home to only get up due to the worst inaccuracy you’ll probably ever see.

Really?

Some of us aren't happy. Just let us be unhappy for a bit instead of giving us a lecture.

Will Ashcroft is a great handballer and is brilliant in close with his hands and reflexes.

Elephant in the room, he is a turnover machine with his kicking. It is a liability. He should be encouraged to stick to handballs because it hurts us when he kicks it.
