Umpires definitely helped Pies in this one.
Demons had their chances but blew it. Pies played averaged and stupid with the continuous kicking to 3 demon defenders inside 50 with Pies players in disadvantage position.... just predictable.
But my hunch is McCrae doesn't want to play their plan A against Demons because they can make the top 8 and can beat anyone when they are playing well.

We were bloody fortunate to win that in the end if I'm being honest.

Melbourne were good.

A lot to learn and improve on from us.

Very poor performance from our tall forwards in the air as a wholes
Failed to bring the ball to ground on too many occasions thus making our small forwards non existent.

Also felt Melbourne outworked us for most of the day by clogging up our F50 and then the ease of winning the intercept marks back had so many 1v1s to slingshot into their forward 50.

We need to be careful playing this way as it was very reminiscent of the Geelong game where we didn’t really look to attack much in the last qtr and just absorb pressure —and absorbing too much pressure willingly is never a good sign.

11th win though is nice and a win for Bobby’s milestone
Bank the wins and reset for the second half of the season
