Gawn was fantastic.
Just made a blunder at the end.
Not as overrated as the Western Pups - 2 weeks ago they were being talked up as the best team in it. Now they'll be lucky to make the finals.

Get a semi competent umpiring line up and a team with a half decent KPF and Pies will go down like a bag of spuds come finals time.
I actually agree with you, I just know Goodwin will not have the clout to actually do anything. He might call it at year end anyway, we probably need to shift out a few now and go back to youth. It’s a sad story since 2021.
The reason we didn’t win more post 2021 had nothing to do with the G. We had major scoring inefficiencies and had a dysfunctional forward line that we never really addressed. I’d accept 2022 as being the wake up call, but 2023 nothing changed and we still finished top 4 post home and away. We had no issue winning ball and going into 50, we had big issues with good disposal and conversion.Trust me I hated watching Liverpool wrap up the PL title in 2020, even though they'd established a massive lead when the world was pre-pandemic. Take out that section of the season and the feeling would've been even more hollow.
I'm not talking about validity in a sporting competition sense. Just the care factor and that competitions world wide through that era felt like something from outer space. You would have taken a '19 or '22 flag over the seasons in between any day of the week.
The fact that Melbourne have crumbled so badly since big games and crowds returned to the home of football, has reflected poorly on the squad's legacy. They proved they could only win a Perth pandemic cup. Fumbling and bumbling away so many games since at the G when the heat is really on.
He was good. But just like all the other Melbourne leaders his ball use is terrible. He kicks the ball way too often as most are a blind hack forwardGawn was fantastic.

Same as last night.
Got to try to make yourself relevant in some way. Maybe try not embarassing yourself tho. I guess you see it enough with Essendon so it rubs off.29 free kicks to win by a point
DO BETTER umpires and try to give them 40 when they play the Saints
Simon Goodwin is a huge issue. I love Gawn but don’t reckon he is a great captain. The Melksham May incident should’ve been handled better and allowing May as much pull as he has had is disappointing. It can turn quickly when you make the call though and commit to good influences who want to be there. Already have a surprising amount of good young players coming through.
Kosi undisciplined 50 cost Melbourne the game. Brain fade.
You make me laughGet a semi competent umpiring line
How may goals did Melbourne score From no freekick involvement in the play or a missed free kick?? 2 or 3 maxIn a one point game, that was the difference.
I'm talking about big games with hot crowds. Melbourne's ball use or forward line was never immaculate, but seemed to suit the more mild or non existent crowds of 2021. Less panicky mistakes and turnovers. The reason we didn’t win more post 2021 had nothing to do with the G. We had major scoring inefficiencies and had a dysfunctional forward line that we never really addressed. I’d accept 2022 as being the wake up call, but 2023 nothing changed and we still finished top 4 post home and away. We had no issue winning ball and going into 50, we had big issues with good disposal and conversion.
I never understand this argument. If a goal comes from a clear free kick why is that any less worthy than any other goal? It's only when the free kick is unwarranted where the issues ariseHow may goals did Melbourne score From no freekick involvement in the play or a missed free kick?? 2 or 3 max
Watched the replay twice and counted 10 steps both times. People might respect your opinion more if you don't feel the need to BS.
Steven May just embodies why Melbourne can't succeed.
Zero commitment to being an elite team mate
