The test case with Allan worked I can’t see why you’d be opposed to the on principle.

I also can’t see why you think it’s such a big risk for o play Mitchell over Sullivan in Schultz role.

If he’s ready I’d rather him play from the start. If not I’d rather him just play a full game in the VFL.

The test case is seeing how well he goes at AFL level over a period of time, not his selection in the side.

There's no need to play him? Where does he fit? We have Schultz and Lipinski going out of the side and he is BY FAR the best performed small of any type in our VFL side over the past two weeks.

You can shuffle the magnets around a little to make the roles fit more closely, but there's clearly an opening. Even Lachie Sullivan being the sub really doesn't do much that Mitchell can't do, and he was already in the side. So I'm not really sure how you can suggest he has no spot.

You're acting like he's a charity case. I'm saying he's our best performed VFL player in recent times and spots in roles he fits into have opened up, and he deserves selection in the same way that any other well performed player would get considered.

Now, if the fitness staff have a plan they're not going to deviate from in terms of de-loading or bringing him along more slowly, and that's the reason he's not selected, fine, but on merit, you would have to be actively looking past him to other players not performing as well as he is.

You could play Mitchell in the HFF role. He can kick a goal and can tackle. He is more than a one-dimensional clearance player.

We know what he could produce but can he still do it at AFL level? The Demons who are a bit out of form are the right team to test it on. With 2 injuries he comes straight back in. Will play midfield and forward (like he did in 2022 at the Hawks).
